I've got this and the Frontlines multiplayer downloading now. Going to give them both a try tonight/tomorrow.

This is the sort of game I'd buy if it were on the Wii and used the remote to aim simply because there hasn't been a game like this to do that. (Red Steel is about as close as you can get and I don't consider it a good comparison.)

Outside of this, while it looks cool, I think it's "just another game" on the other two systems.

Might be a great bargain-bin game, but it doesn't look like it would be engrossing enough to shell out top dollar for it.

I think one problem in the demo is they gave you the slowest guy to play with and he is just... too slow. It was interesting, but I'd like to be able to try out some of the faster characters to see if I'll enjoy the faster pace.

Oh and the GunCon unfortunately does not work with it 🙁.

EDIT:

Also, PS3 download size of 1.8GB FTL 😛.

Are you serious? They gave you the russian guy?

The arcade style game play of the demo just didn't work for me,and I am probably one of the most easy to please gamers out there.

Yes, that's probably why Modeps said it felt so slow, because the guy really did feel slow.

The demo character is the black guy, I'm guessing he's not Russian. I assume the PS3 demo is the same as the 360.

I guess it's not, because we definitely had Dragov. The only reason I tried it on the PS3 is because I wanted to see if the Guncon worked. Although, I also didn't have to worry about deleting stuff to even get the demo 😛.

EDIT:

Actually, I think I'm going to try the PC demo as yet again, the inability to aim with the controller kind of deterred my enjoyment of this game. PC games are cheaper anyway 😛.

The black guy is Renwick (sp?), and that's who I've been playing with because he's one of the well rounded guys (as opposed to the Russian who is strong and slow).

BTW--there is a sprint button. The demo deosnt give you enough of the sense of the game.

Yeah I just forgot which one it was and was too busy trying to aim =\. That's why I hate FPS games on the consoles, I just lose all sense of fun when I'm getting frustrated because I'm just a tiny bit off and you need to hit it a smidge just to get it over that bit but you hit it too much! It's like when you're right by the hole in golf and you keep hitting it too hard.

Hmm the PC demo featured Nemo rather than the other two and different stages. You can practically play the whole game by just getting the demo on each console 😛. Of course the PC game was just another speedy 360 port so it said stupid-ass things like, "Press LB or RB to switch tips!" "Press start to continue" You fucktards, do you SEE a controller hooked up?

I don't pay for incompetence.

So I was able to spend time with the full retail X360 version of the game last night and I'm shocked to say that the PS3 version appears to be visually superior. It just appears, to me, to be more vibrant, a tad smoother, and is visually sharper. I dont know what it is, but it was just more appealing (visually) overall on that system.

So, despite the lack of acheivements--I'm going to stick with the PS3 version.

Maybe in some alternate dimension where COD4 doesn't exist but until then meh.

Given the limited amount of time I have to sit and play games I am content between COD4 and Forza 2 (w/ wheel - LOVE racing). I own some other games that I haven't ever touched like pgr4 and amped 3 and some others I can't even remember 🙂

Thanks for bringing this up. I didnt get into CoD4 MP, so I stopped playing CoD4 a while back. But I really think Cod4 and this game, though both shooters, are different games with different goals.

But I can see how if one has a limited schedule and are fulfilling the shooter game slot and racing game slots, that this just wouldnt be appealing. But maybe next month or whenever you stop playing CoD4, you can rent it or check it out if you're interested.

I have to be honest...it will be a LONG time before I get bored of COD4 multiplayer...it is just so well done (this is playing on Xbox Live). I eagerly await more multiplayer maps...and hopefully more guns down the road...

I just rented COD4 late last week and have been plowing through the single-player campaign. I played multi-player on Monday and had a blast with that after the first couple of games where I was getting my feet wet and getting called "Noob" names.

AC-130 level

I just rented it last night and its fun. I HATE aiming with the controller, although am getting used to it. On the other hand, I think the PC version would be too easy by having a mouse...

IGN gave it a 6.9/10 for both the PS3 and 360. Basically everything they say in their review with the exception of the Multiplayer aspects (which were not in the demo), is how the demo played out for me. So, if you want to know what its like, download the demo.

If you're not the type of gamer who obsesses over high scores, there really is no reason for you to pick up The Club. The main single player game, called the tournament, can be completed in under three hours and after that there's nothing to do except to replay the stages again and again. Of course, that's the point and you'll have to do it if you want to perfect your game and get the high score, but I can't help but find the game a bit shallow -- a one trick pony. After beating the game and going back to replay some stages, I didn't feel hooked by the game at all.

I rented this and although I liked it better than the demo, I still returned it the next day and wouldn't buy it. I may rent it again at some point.

Just snagged this on eBay 🙂Q) for $30. Hopefully I will enjoy it.

Cool--let us know what you think.

Finally got this in the mail last week, and had a chance to play it for a while this weekend. I think it's a lot of fun but the controls can be frustrating (mainly trying to turn around and quickly navigate without letting my combo bleed out). I'm still learning (I keep forgetting to use quick-turn) but really the game is designed so that you need to memorize each level and replay them in order to do well.

I found that the difficulty settings are kind of useless, in the sense that it doesn't seem to make it any harder or easier to achieve the highest score. It adds more enemies and makes the survival segments more difficult, but I never found it easier/harder to get the highest score in tournament or single play when using the Reckless or Insane difficulties.

I would definitely not pay $60 for this game, but I don't regret buying it for $30 (especially since it arrived in mint condition). It's a nice mindless distraction but not something I'd want to play for more than a couple hours at a time. I haven't tried the online mode yet.
