I never read the books but the movie so far looks really good !

I love the first trailer they had on tv! Well the first teaser trailer. This movie has good music! Movie reminds me a little bit of Lord of the Rings but I know not the same.

Sort of. I remember reading the book and then seeing either a show or movie of it on PBS when I was young. Great book. The show/movie was good as well.

I'll definitely be checking it out. I loved the books as a kid, and have read them over a couple of times since. :) I'm not stand-in-a-long-lineup excited though :p

I remember reading those books in elementary school even though I've forgotten the plot almost entirely. I'd like to see them just to get a refresher on what it was all about, but I'm definately not waiting in line at the theater to see any of them. I'm not that excited about it.

Then 2005 movie right? Where were you able to see it and was it a sneek peek for the public or what?

What book(s) is the movie based on? I don't think they're going in the preferred order.

Cool! Sounds like the movie doesn't disappoint and could outgross Harry Potter maybe! It has a chance thats for sure! Even outdo King Kong is possible!

I'd have to say that I preferred Potter since is it much darker of a film and has a more developed feel (though it does have the benefit of the previous three).

Disney will certainly do more of the books if The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is even moderately successful.

I don't doubt that they'll go through all seven films. The books aren't all that lengthy so adapting them to film should be easy to do without cutting out much of the story.

The talking Lion is my favorite because its just so cool to see on screen! Of course its not real but its so cool! Seems like they did a good job with special effects to me!

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is based on...The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe :p

Anyways, no puppet Aslan, no sale!
(j/k of course. looking forward to this one as well. Fantasy has really made a comeback the last few years with the help of the Potter and LotR series.)

Were the graphics decent? I'm just horribly afraid that they won't do the movie justice through the graphics or by altering the storyline.

To the person who asked about the order, this is the most famous book of the series and it was the first one written. It's not the first book chronologically, but it does stand in its own two feet by itself. (It's also my least favorite of the series. Call me when they get to "Dawn Treader".)

The effects looked good. Weta did most of the work, IIIRC.

I can't speak to how much they varied from the book since I haven't read it.

The special effects look good from watching all the trailers and special features at the movie website. IMHO, WETA has supplanted LucasArts in terms of movie special effects. They are just awesome.

Mixed feelings about it.

It will be interesting to see how much religiousity (specifically Christian) remains intact.

Outgross Harry Potter? Do you have any grasp of reality? HP was an extremely popular book before the movies came out. LWW, while being a classic, shares no such explosive popularity to bolster the box office revenues.

the mental images of Aslon suffering and being killed were enough to me falling in love with this story I could relate to 20 years ago+.

Religous or not they are heartfelt stories.
