The chrome turn signal craze

I see this very often nowadays. People who cannot stand their amber turn signals and therefore has to replace them with a chrome housing. As far as I am concerned the light still has to be amber so they are just making buying bulbs more expensive for themselves in the future... At any rate, amber signals are natural, there's nothing unsightly about them. Why do people do this?
 
I despise red turn signals. They ignite a murderous rage within me which can only be quenched by the blood of the innocent.
 
Umm on some cars they come stock with clear lenses but yes some people change them. Who cares. It's their car and doesn't affect anyone else.
 
i guess if you have extra money floating around.. its cool to change colored plastic lenses..

i dont have that much free time, or care.

A huge majority of American cars have red turn signals. I guess you hate America.
 
I don't see the fascination in more than half of the crap done to cars these days. From that stupid show Pimp my Ride to ricing up your car because you want to appear like you race, as if life was some video game like Need for Speed.

My car came pre-riced and I did whatever I could to de-rice it.

I was once paid to torture those who hate America. Don't forget that. You see, I am well versed in the ways of clandestine ops, and I can take anyone out at anytime. Everyone knows this.
 
Think it started with the altezza craze and the Lexus/Altimas quite a few years back. It's nothing new. Anyway, those who are into cars don't want it to look like every other car of the same model on the road, so they do what they can to individualize it. It's more a matter of keeping it subtle and some people just don't have good taste when doing so. The altezza lights have become so common I don't even think twice about them.
