The Chinese are overpopulating my neighborhood

I'll take "threads that Californians start" for $200 Alex.

As diverse as we are in NY, I'm glad we don't have such influx problems (Mexicans included). At least not to that level. We do have the rich chinese families moving in for schools though. I guess only some don't mind winters.

I do think anchor babies can cause issues down the line in the US
It's somewhat ridiculous that U.S. is one of the only countries that gives citizenship rights to anyone born on its soil even though the child has no relation to the country. The child should have at least one permanent resident parent or something.

Yup, I have a bunch of Chinese neighbors who have million dollar homes and have never spoken to me at my primary in the bay area and a Mexican neighbor in Sacramento where I have a second house I go to get away. My Mexican neighbor waters and cuts my grass as a courtesy and won't take any money. He's just a blue collar working guy but he has tremendous personal dignity. When I pressed him about it he told me he want any more than to show his kids how they should live.

First, I really love my Chinese neighbors. They keep to themselves, are quiet, and I hardly notice that they are there. They are also very diligent about sweeping up leaves and trash on our block.

As my neighbors move away, the only people replacing them have been Chinese. They're the primarily reason why the price of houses around us has been propped up. Now only five houses on my block are non-Chinese. I believe they are attracted to the large Chinese community in the area and the good school district, which in turn becomes more competitive/higher ranked due to the influx of Chinese. There's so many Chinese students in the schools here that at one point my daughter thought she was Chinese too!

Anyways, I learned that one of the houses on my block is being used for anchor babies. Pregnant Chinese women will rent rooms there until they give birth. They apparently have a whole menu of services available to them (e.g. $50 for a trip to Costco, $200 for hospital trip, etc.).

I recently talked to someone I do regular business with 30 miles away and he said he had a home on his block that does this as well. Apparently there's 40,000 “birth tourists” coming into the country every year. Does anyone else know of homes like this?

They keep to themselves, are quiet, and try to keep a low profile because they are doing something unethical/illegal behind your back whether it's housing anchor babies, here illegally, or something 😉

You must not have dealt with the mainland Chinese. Wealthy or not, they are just as bad as every other ethnic group.

My entire street is wealthy asian/indian people. every gets along fine, we have block parties and look after each others kids/houses. then you look at the local crime report and 90% of the names are gomez/garcia/gonzalez/etc...

I would not report them on principle alone, if someone wants to have a baby "naturally" without a hospital or having the baby registered in any kind of government database than that should be their right. It's their body and their baby.

I am just saying every ethnic group has their own bad apples.

It always seem that Asian(Americans) tend to exhibit the most manners and are usually friendly when I ask for help or socialize with them. I am not saying other races/ethnics aren't friendly, but it seems that I encounter Asian-Americans that are friendly on a more consistent basis.

Even the poor ones have a sense of pride and are friendly for most part.

They are too polite/non confrontational to talk shit to you to your face. They will do that later over dim sum.

Well I think a lot of people talk shit about one another. I rather they don't do it to my face. What they do over "Dim sum" is up to them.

Also, I also should mention "Asian-American". Heh, I doubt they frequent dim sum places too much.

Just give them warning and then report them if don't take effect of warninng
yeah, that's a great idea. Tell the mafia you're about to report them, then report them.
This is not even a neighbour making a dump in his garden.

while I do find ius solis ridicolous (made sense in colonial countries back when mass immigration was in full force, but not anymore), they will have to wait 21 years before the kid can petition for their immigration.
In the meanwhile the kid will be able to go to university or look for work in the US though, I guess that's important to chinese people.

Turn the houses that you know if in. Its illegal and only way to stop it is to inform the proper authorities. Plus if you do a good enough job maybe their wont be as many chinese in your neighborhood some year down the road 😛
