8TB nVME anyone 419.99?

Only one cavet, its U.2, which means you will need a M.2 to U.2 adapter / card.
Oh and its enterprise grade, so you can expect it to be like a tank in Writes Endurance.

4TB Leven. DRAMLESS
174.99

I want to see someone find something cheaper, as i think we just hit the floor on >2TB SSD's.

I have 4 of there dram versions running in my brothers system in R-0.
They have been really good.
I bearly notice any difference between my sandisk extremes.

But these are DRAMLESS versions, and not the ones with DRAM that i have.
Would make awesome storage ssd's on possibly a dedicated controller with built in DRAM.

It doesn't look like we've hit the floor just yet. I need to start getting in on these low prices before they jump back up.

-14% $154.99
Was: $179.99
Lowest price in 30 days

As mentioned earlier, the 4TB version appears to have a high failure rate based on the 1 star (50 out of 141) reviews on Amazon

Intel U.2 (SFF-8639) to M.2 Converter Cable - $5.99

Intel U.2 (SFF-8639) to M.2 Converter Cable - $5.99
that is the uglist u.2 adapter ive seen.

Although it comes with everything in one set for less then what it would normally cost for everything.
But man, that's ugly compared to a 4x pci-e slot adapter....

Like this:

TEAMGROUP AX2 3D NAND, Silicon Power 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache, TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z SLC Cache 3D NAND and PNY CS900 2TB 3D NAND which one is best of all?

Im also with Larry.... PNY has MEH stuff, but the MEH stuff is actually a lot of OEMs.
I know HP and Dell rebrand PNY's as there own.

But again its MEH.

Silicon Power is also on my MEH list.
Its not bad, but its not great or good, its right on MEH...

Would i use it on my build... probably not... would i use it on someone else who wants to save every last penny... probably... because when your counting down to the last dollar, MEH becomes OOOH...

What exactly is direct drive?

I searched: disk "direct drive" on google, I see a lot of electric motor and gearbox stuff, other stuff, even something to do with john deere tractors. Nothing related to computers, but I didn't look at all the results past the first page or so. What am I missing?
🙁

Larry is correct. I meant directstorage. Sorry about the confusion.

It's alright. I panicked, thinking I might be missing something. I guess it's just the latest lipstick microsoft is smearing on "storage spaces", or some such. Hopefully, it will be begnign.
🙂
