Thanks balloonshark, i forgot that Amazon was matching it!
Or you could spurge and get the 480GB version for $114.
PNY 480 GB SSD for 102.00 with PC: PNY15OFF
Use ebay coupon code PSPRINGTIME for 15% off, makes this $55.24 I believe, for a 1st/2nd-tier branded 240GB SSD with warranty. Not bad.
Edit: DEAD deal.
I got the Adata 240gb for $55.67 shipped. Thanks for the heads up.
I think that the ebay coupon expired, but Newegg on ebay has the Toshiba TR200 for $53.99 FS
for the 240GB capacity.
I've already snagged two of these, at decent price-points, but this is the cheapest that I've seen it for.
It should be noted, that this drive does have a Toshiba warranty which is pretty decent, but I'm pretty sure I read that this is a DRAM-less drive, so it should be "cheaper".
microcenter has the 860 250GB for $64; as usual instore.
Great price, even with tax.
Amazon has the Crucial BX300 240GB SSD for $58.39
WD 500GB blue (5 year warranty) ssd has a recent price drop to $109 @ newegg and amazon among other places. It is not a bad price for a reliable ssd but I suspect we will see deeper drops in the future.
The WD Blue 500GB SSD is $119.99 at Newegg and Amazon.
Best deal right now is the Crucial MX500 500GB SSD at both Newegg and Amazon for $109.00:
Inland pro series 120 & 240. Think these are Microcenter's inhouse brand. Price does not seem to bad at 25.99 for 120 & 45.99 for 240. Not sure if it a sale price or normal. I grabbed 2 240's the other day still waiting for arrival.
Stables has the mx500 500GB for $96. Free shipping.
480gb team group - $80
Here is a great deal on the Team Group L5 LITE 3D 2.5" 480GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253TD480G3C101 , https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-331-049
Be sure to check the reviews on this drive and see if they are relevant to yourself.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...20326748&cm_re=hp_s700-_-20-326-748-_-Product $55.99 w/fs
HP S700 Pro 2.5" 256GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) 2AP98AA#ABL
newegg is selling 1tb 860 for 229 if you are signed up to receive emailing - else it is 239. Btw a lot of places are selling it for $239 if you prefer a different vendor.
Team Group L5 Lite 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD $44.99("See price in cart")
Limit 20 per customer. (They must have plenty of these, and want to clear them out.)
These are the older, lower-end 2D TLC NAND, not the newer 3D TLC that even the budget drives these days are sporting.
One thing to be concerned with Team Group is that their RMA is in Taiwan and the company SSDs have been known to lack Secure erase command.
In fact, I tried to secure erase my Team Group Ultra L5 and it looks like it bricked the drive.
For someone that only needs a small SSD I have found this one to be surprisingly good:
$17.99 FS for Phison S11, MLC NAND from a name brand company based in US.
(The controller does lack encryption capability though)
980gb Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 169 on newegg business. Ordered 4 for work.
Way too small for my needs, but maybe someone is looking for a small unit:
Intel 120GB 545s SSD. $31.99 after promo code: EMCSPWRU2
Expires today at 11:59 PT
That's cheap... for an Intel drive! (They are usually 25% more expensive than the cheapest drives, those 5-year warranties aren't super-cheap.)
I would pick up the customer qty. limit, if I had the funds. Then again, I've kind of sworn off any drives smaller than 250GB, so there's that. If they had the 256GB model for $49.99, I'd definitely go for that.
The prime day sale was pretty good.
I got 2 mx500's for $50 & $55.
Also a 1TB for $165.
