Hey all,

Just picked up a Sweeeeeeet leather chair today at the local Office Depot... And let me tell you what a difference that it has made on my overall computing experience...

I used to have a basic chair, Hard, Ugly, Makes your back hurt. ;)

Now... i have this new leather GOD :D

It is now much nicer to sit and game, and just all around surf...

For anyone who doesn't have a nice chair, its well worth the money :)

Just thought i would share my happiness....

:D

Ok, I have to disagree with you. I Ferengi with the best of them but franly those chairs look like S**T. The padding is little if any and the material, although leather appears to be of low quality.

AphexII's dad has a saying. You pay for crap, you get crap. I woundnt touch any of the advertised $10 or $40 chairs just because of the level of quality involved. I picked up a global cortona on sale for $200 and I used a $40 off $200, bringing it down to $160. The quality is far superior to many others. In fact, I picked up a global supreme cloth chair ($290) for $220 (floor model) and I used a $40 off $200. The level of padding and support in my cortona is superior to this cloth one, however the support is better in the cloth one.

Chairs are not like Athlon XP's people. They're all not the same.

while yes this isn't the best chair evar, but to get a normally $60 leather chair for $10 after MIR is very cheap!

I like my 3 cloth and 2 leather chairs from OD that came out to about $30 each. They're quite comfortable. Yes the padding slowly gets compressed. So next year I'll drop another $30 to get an identical replacement. Shoot, with how cheap the Army is, I finally got one of the cloth chairs for my office. It's FAR superior to the POS armless typing chair I've had for 4 years. (And I have "seniority" in my office for furniture choices.)

Finally someone who agrees with me that Global chairs are pretty good!
I have a Global that is 3 years old and the padding is still as good as the day I got it. My wifes original chair on the other hand was a cheapo $40 Sam's club one. The padding died in about a year. This time around we got her a Global.

Mind you, the vacuum seal on mine is going. I suspect I know why though. :D :D :D

CHAIR definitely makes the difference - much better than standing all day :D

PsychoAndy, the more I see your posts, I see that you seem to know your buying - and know quality schtuff. Sorry for not providing that warm welcome feeling toward your posts in my "Build a LAN shop' thread .

So, what would you recommend for 20 seats in a LAN shop? Preferrable something that doesn't require replacent after one year. (bjc112, sorry for cross posting in your thread - i'll PM Psycho if you'd rather)

And, are you able to get ahold of any Aeron's for less than my suppliers quote of $415.00? I'm shooting for 2-3 of those, not 20 like I was dreaming of :(.

If any of ya'll end up w/a extra chunk of change that you decide HAS to be spent on a chair, Shazaaaahaaaam!!
