Bullshit. Why exactly is Cats theater material and not movie material? Please explain the nuances of the mediums which show why people will sit in a theater and watch it for 90 minutes on stage, but not sit in a theater and watch it for 90 minutes on screen. I'm dying to hear this.

Cats is an unbelievably stupid idea, but nonetheless an unbelievably successful one. If Pixar had done it the movie would probably have opened at $50 million.

I was thinking the exact same thing and then I realized that getting into bed with Disney is like getting into bed with the Mob. It might seem like a good idea but not everyone wants to do it.

Its probably gonna lose a ridiculous amount of money:

One of the biggest losers of all time, profit-wise.
But I am betting it develops a cult following over the years like a lot of weird films. And I bet the original, unfixed cut with human hands becomes a collectors item.

Kind of like Howard the Duck but with cats.....hmmmmm...yeah....no.
Its like Howard the Duck in that its garbage, but its a very different setup.
The original had no CGI and really cheap visual FX and the bare minimum of singing and dancing.
The new movie is suspected to be more CGI given that its Marvel.

after reading the terrible reviews and box office failings, I must say I haven't felt this jellicle ever in my life.
