Hm. I didn't know about that...but then, we were never caught, either :p. We used to be there 3-4 nights a week for a couple summers.

i see the point, but i dont. if thats the kid, he looks like a jackass just trying to gather attention.

i mean if you drink in canada, stay in canada for that night. also couldnt he have been charged with public intox?

In Michigan, an person's body acts as a container, which means that being drunk and having alcohol in your bloodstream means that you are a minor in possession of alcohol. I've seen citations written for MIP all the time, though I've never seen one where the alcohol was consumed over the national boundary. I fail to see how they won their case, but hey, sometimes the law works in weird ways.

They'll pass a new law soon enough

Edit: Read the article, hope the kid loses.

old news for us here in SE michigan. i mean, you aren't doing anything wrong, go across border, drink legally, then come back. we can basically drink when we are 19 here. just take 10 mins and go across the border to the bars in windsor. it is sweet too, they have bars that are pretty much 100% americans there too.

Kinda weird. Here in Canada it's not illegal to consume alcohol or cigarettes underage. It's only illegal to sell or be in possesion of(I think). It's not even illegal to attempt to purchase underage. Correct me if I'm wrong.
