I just finished replaying the third instalment and I wanted to discuss the series in general.
Last time I played as McCall, this time I was Guerra, and Ill play agent Evans next time. The story is slightly different depending on whom you play, but all three fit together into a grand arc.
The third had a great story and voice acting but was hugely let down by its shooting mechanics, which felt stiff and lacked character compared to the other games. The graphics were generally above average but I found them lacking in the docks level.
I think the second game is best overall because it hits the high-notes for graphics/story/level design/gunplay, and I liked finding money to upgrade my guns.
The series in general is definitely something different over the Battlefields and Call of Duties of the world. Also its villains are always memorable.
Interestingly, the first game is nine years old now, but its DX10 graphics still look beautiful even when compared to todays games.
