The Cable Guy had great news today!

Finally! After years of waiting I finally saw the Charter cable guy outside our condo complex today installing new boxes that he said will be able to offer Broadband access! That's right, I've had no access to DSL or cable modem for years. He said they are about 30 days away from offering it!!!!

no big deal though...looking at the possibility of getting a t1 line and splitting the cost with a few neighbors via a wireless network 😀

Lucky bastard! Charter came through with Pipeline just before I moved :| and it's not at the new place for a while yet :| :| :|

Stuck with dialup,

I thought you were gonna talk about something like a super duper extra filled dvd for the movie The Cable Guy. It's an underrated movie.

Until it's truly available I would not believe a word out of their mouth. Time Warner strung a friend of mine on for 2 years saying "Oh it will be available next month" starting back in Nov. of '99. He finally got his cable modem 2 months ago. 🙂

Woot woot!! I remember last summer keeping tabs while my cable guy upgraded the system in my town for the net! 🙂

Simply put: Broadband is God. Obviously if it was either dialup or nothing, I'd be dialing up. But once you have broadband, you don't/wont' care HOW much it is a month. I pay $50/mo for 1.5mb/s DSL. At first, the $50 stung, but after the first time you DL 3DMark2001, which is about 39 megs in about a minute flat, you'll be lighting candles and worshipping at the alter that is the God of Broadband. 😀
