One of the best.

So this naked blonde walks into a bar with a poodle under one arm and a giant salami under the other...

 I thought the average age here was at least 22, and I see no reason why they wouldn't like it. I am 19, and most of my friends like it too.

Anyways, is the movie a good movie, and should I watch it, and why? is it better than porn?

I'm assuming you don't have TBS

Nope... ageless classic.

Only the fassion is out of date.

Two awesome coming of age stories that modern movies have not come even close to.

Their kids in detention? :p

I heard (and of course, this could have just been someone bs'ing to me) that it was originally supposed to be a trilogy, with the next two movies reuniting them five years later (ie: second movie would have taken place when they're in college and the third would have been St. Elmo's Fire-ish).

It was a good flick in it's day. If you're into that kind of feel-good teen coming-of-age movies then you'll like it. It's a good film for everyone to see once. Like geminigear said, you have to watch it on DVD or else on one of the pay movie channels like HBO. The family "G" version with all the good lines edited for content is lame. It's got a representative from several of the stereotypical social classes in the typical mid-80's high school - a jock, a headbanger, a nerd, an outcast, and a preppy chick. I won't spoil it for you if you want to see it. You'll see what I mean when you see it.
