The Bourne Identity...whoah

NFS4

No Lifer
I got this movie pre-owned from Blockbuster a month ago and just now got the chance to watch it. Damn that sh!t is awesome!! 🙂 Loved the Mini chase 😉

I thought it was a fairly decent movie also but if you have the time, and haven't already, read the books. They are excellent.

books are much better than the movie. Imo, it shouldn't have been called Bourne Identity b/c it had nothing to do with that story line.

I probably still wouldn't have enjoyed the movie even if it wasn't called Bourne Identity, too many plot holes.

I was both unimpressed by the movie and by how poorly Damon performed in the fight scenes.

He's hardly a natural martial artists/fighter, like a Jet Li

Fight scenes were awesome. Personally, the movie was a bit long and very predictable. I thought it was ok... 5/10 imo.

One of the "bars" the Matrix raised was that actors who are involved in fight scenes must be properly trained. That's one of the things that made it so great - That guy right there, doing the kicking and blocking and punching in perfect form - THAT'S THE ACTOR! Holy cow!

As a result, I expect future movies to include such things. Consider Jennifer Garner, who kicks FREAKING ass because she actually learned Tae Kwon Do prior to "Alias."

Keanu was pretty stiff in The Matrix. Knowledgeable in martial arts? Yes. Perfect form? Hardly. Go back and watch the first fight with Morpheus - it's pretty obvious he was trying too hard. And what particular fight scenes in TBI were bad?

The lobby of the bank, for example. They weren't cutting it so quickly to be stylish, they were doing so because if they didn't, you'd realize how much ass Damon was sucking at his choreography.

I hate movies that cut fight scenes that quickly. It's NEVER stylish. I want a long shot. I want to see multiple angles, but COHERANTLY.

And you're only able to say that he didn't have perfect form after how many viewings? And would you have noticed if it was cut similar to the fight scenes in BI?

Well maybe they should have cut it more like BI... then it wouldn't seem so stiff. And yes, it was absolutely horrible the first time i saw Keanu fight in the dojo.

The acting was a bit disappointing, but the movie was fun. Both damon and potenta are better actors than that film showed.
