Eh, sometimes you want a cool toy. The Boring 'thrower looks really freaking cool and comfortable to hold, plus it's not $1k. Who hasn't dreamed of a flamethrower that looks like a Nerf gun? And you don't always want to shoot a flame 20' out; that's really not practical for anything. Not that the Boring flamethrower is practical, but you can actually use it without worrying about setting everything around you on fire. It's a cool way to raise money, though.

That said, I've decided not to buy it. I'd use it for a week and then it would just sit on my wall. If it were closer to $250, I'd bite.
