The Boondock Saints is an awesome movie

My friend went and got Veritas tattooed on his hand after seeing it. Now, my friend is a dumbass, but the movie rocks.

One of my favorites. I like to lend it out to people. Not many people have heard of it or seen it, and they all end up loving it.

It's entertaining, but it's much too cheesy to be classified as good. An 8 year-old could have come up with the plot for that movie.

Cheesy films can be great films.

They are making a sequel. Great movie. I especially like the part where William DeFoe is like "this is impossible, stunts like this only happen in the movies". Any scene with him in it is great. Bump for a great movie.

I'm from Boston so I've been told several times to check this out... but what's with the ambiguously gay scenes I keep hearing about just as much?? 😕

there has already been a sequel. Supposedly that wasn't so good.

Also, there is nothing ambiguously gay. I believe its pretty clear that Dafoe's character is gay.

No, the sequel is in production.

ah, the semi anual "the boondock saints is a great movie" thread.

sorry folks but the movie was shite.... a blatant tarantino ripoff, terrible acting, ridiculous plot, bad dialouge...

even the "action scenes" were bad (even the obligatory slow motion gun fight).

what is it about this god awful flick that you people like? do you identify with the lead actors? do you admire them? attracted to them?

I just don't get it.

Some of my suitemates think it is like..the best movie ever. I don't get it either..the movie is entertaining, has good action too. I think the whole "Lets get revenge then kill a bunch of bad people" appeals to them. I don't think they understand much past that really. Now, Pulp Fiction on the other hand..

Tarantino WISHES his movies were this good.

lol... sorry but whoever is responsible for that crap tried (and failed horribly) to emulate tarantino's style.

oh well... each to his own.

That's a good thing. Every Tarantino movie has been a steaming pile of crap.

Boondock Saints is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. Anybody who does not like it is either a boring person or a movie snob.

<---throws down gauntlet

Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction are great films.

I shall not endure a person with cinematic tastes such as yours disparaging their good names.

Here is how I came up with this view. Everyone I know likes it except a couple people, 1 of them is a movie snob that only likes crappy foreign films and the other (my co-worker) is one of the most boring white-bread people on the planet.

It's a good movie IMHO, but your mileage may vary. You either love it or hate it, it seems. I will say that it could have been executed a little better, but it's still entertaining to watch.

I can't say there's anything ambiguous about Willem Dafoe's character. It's patently obvious that his character is gay, although his behavior in a few scenes would seem to indicate he's not totally comfortable with it. I suppose that's probably where people got the "ambiguously gay" thing from. It's not a major part of the movie, though.

::shrug::
