The biggest fine you ever got??

Cant top that, but... I got a parking ticket 1986 that i forgot about. went out of the country for 8yrs, moved back to the usa but a different state for 5yrs. moved back here and 2yrs later had a fender bender. Was susended for the parking ticket while i was out of country so the fender bender was also driving while suspended.

That one parking ticket that would have cost $6.00 in 1986 cost me over $1,550 with fines and interest. The driving while suspended... they dropped the charges but not the surcharge so add another $750. per year for three years. $2,250.00


total parking ticket = $3,750.00
 
$101.50 and a night in jail for cliff diving, smoking pot, and underage drinking in a quarry that was on a military base. Had no idea it was until the MPs showed up.
 
$144 or something like that for careless driving. Driving without insurance isn't anywhere near a $6000 fine here.

It's a $50 fine here, unless you provide proof of insurance within 30 days. Then it's no fine.

So, wherever you live insurance is essentially optional then. The fine is cheaper than the insurance would be.
 
$880 for going 101+ in a 70 (that judge was an absolute ass). I would have had a $1500 or so fine for no insurance once, but my insurance agent backdated a new policy at the time, so didn't have to pay. 🙂
 
$350 for parking in no parking area (from 4PM to 7PM), towed, and impounded for 1 night. That hurted bad.

$300 for throwing a roll of receipt paper out of my window at a cop while holding on to the end of it so it unspiraled through the air and bounced off of his windshield. he wasnt too happy.
