I love wagons. As much room inside as a SUV, but handles like a sedan.

Unfortunately this it too pricey for me, but I like the idea of it.

Now THAT is a kid hauler that I wouldn't mind driving! It would be fun smokin' SUV's at stop lights, too :)

That is why I am looking for either an older Buick RoadMaster wagon or and older Crown Vic wagon.

PS: that is small compared to real station wagons from the early 70's like a Monaco wagon.

What's the wheelbase on those old boats?? The A8L has something like a 120"+ wheelbase

Yeah, but think in terms of overall length. That Audi doesn't have nearly the front and rear overhang of the old wagons. They'd have 3 feet or more of rear overhang, that Audi has maybe 18 inches.

They weigh in at 5500lbs. There are also Polara wagons and New Port wagons and New Yorker wagons.

Not sure of the wheelbase prob 135". My manuals are packed away as I am moving.

The old wagons had 124" WB, and 117" was also common. My old Town Car had 127" with a lot of overhang in the front and back. 135" sounds like a full size extended van, Randy. I don't care how big it is, as long as it's got elbow and legroom in the driver and passenger seating, and you can fit a 4'x8' sheet of plywood in there, and close the tailgate. I doubt we'll see a wagon that can do that for quite a while, but at least this is a positive step.

What's the deal with the Chrysler 300C Touring Concept? Is that thing going to become a reality, or not?

Only in Europe. You'll have to settle for the Dodge Magnum (which looks better IMHO anyway). That being said, they don't have much cargo room.
