I was just thinking about the scene where they spread the ashes.

I've never seen flat out comendy and tragedy/pathos blended so perfectly. Absolute genius.

You gotta read between the lines, man.

Nice Marmot.
Also, did anyone else notice the somewhat irony of the opening scene? Sam Elliot is talking in the opening scene about Saddam, the check for the half and half that the Dude writes is dated Sept 11 1991

The Coen Brothers are the ultimate hipsters; they were perpetuating the myth that Saddam was involved in 9/11 before it even happened.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the movie, but when I saw him writing a check for a single container of half and half, I knew I would like it.

I actually have it on DVD and HD-DVD, waiting till I can get the BRD for 10 bucks.

Keep the HD-DVD, they botched the BD. 😡 And I really don't get how they could screw this up. All they needed to do was take the HD-DVD HD transfer and put it on BD. No need to create new HD transfer. Simple. But noooooooo, they messed it up.

movie sucks ass

goodman and Buscemi are the only redeeming part

I had heard so much about how great it was - such a huge letdown

and yet, you have the matrix in your avatar.

you know how I know that you and i would never get along?

Don't pee on my rug.

The ability to watch a beautifully-shot movie with maximum quality is important to me. It was on HD-DVD a long time ago, but barely anyone has access to an HD-DVD player.

I have one!

...but it's setting in my closet b/c it's broken. 🙁

I had contemplated picking up the BL way back when the huge fire sales were going on, and Fry's was unloading HDVDs for $5. glad I didn't, b/c I did not discover for some time later that my ~year-old player at the time had decided, for whatever reason, to stop playing HDDVDs.

Yeah, I thought about that too and started laughing.
