I have ati r9700 pro .. i think its time to upgrade..... i want to spend 400 the most - i want to get bang for my buck - can someone tell me whats the mest video card??? ati or nvidia - i dont care ...
i just want 256mb and 256 bit 🙂

Only one I know is the BFG ones comes with Farcry if they still have that offer. O and Leadtek comes with prince of persia and splinter cell.
 
9700 Pro? Should do you justice for a little while longer.

Why not spend that 400$ on something else and wait a month or two?

Only the BFG NU comes with Far Cry. I have a GT and it came with nothing
 
i would keep the 9700pro a little bit longer. hang on and wait a bit, new stuff coming out from ati and nV. and if you can wait.. you can snatch a 6800U for a cheap price in a couple months (maybe 3 😉) most likely


but, if you cant wait.. definently go with the 6800GT (BFG is best company in my opinion) by far.
 
You should go with the x800pro. Its cheap and delivers better performance for the price, especially in DX based games. You don't need any of that Doom 3 rubbish.
 
I would take a x800xt pe over a 6800U (assuming I can find them @ the same price) because it has better overall performance IMO, but a x800pro just doesn't compare to the GT.

389 dollars is not cheap and the x800 pro gets out performed or at least matched with the 6800GT in HL2. End of discussion.
 
x800pro vivo modded to x800xt-pe owns the gt. 🙂 of course its a fugged up way of doing it.. it might not mod properly. But if it does, its better than the gt. And a bit cheaper I think.

or you can go with a decently priced card and 100% stable garunteed performance 😛
 
i dont know why but my games are not soo good - i get low fps and stuff - i just got new MOBO cpu ram and it still slow in cs test i get only 40fbs

p4 3.0ghzHT 512k cache 800FSB
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
ULTRA 2x 512mb pc3200
r9700 pro 128 mb
Maxtor 60gig 6Y060L0 i think its 2mb C

i had this problem for long time..... no one could help me - they ware telling me .. your cpu is the problem .. your MOBO is the problem.. you need more ram.. so i got new stufff i saw diffrance but very little ..... the only thing left from my old comp is my VIDEO CARD and HDD ... im sick of this -- i just want to have good pc

so if i get everything new the problem has to be the video card.. 🙂

This sounds like a good choice, but you'll have to tell us more about your problems. A 6600GT is a decent boost from a 9700P, and the MSI VIVO one at GameVE is only $215. Sure, it's much slower than a 6800GT at high res with AA+AF--it's really meant for 10x7 or so with 4xAA--but it may be fast enough for you.
 
i got the leadtek one, and i got 10,900 on 3dmark'03...before it started artifacting...

I'm in process of an RMA now though!

BTW, PoP and Splinter Cell is a good deal! Also comes w/ all cables and adaptors. I got it for $395 shipped on Newegg
