The best The Sims game?

Which The Sims game is the best? The Sims 1, 2, 3 or 4? What do you think about The Sims 4? Is it good or sucks?

Sims 3 had probably the best overall gameplay, particularly with all the stuff one person could do career-wise. However, its filled with bugs and serious performance issues that never got fixed even as they released thousands of dollars worth of DLC.

Sims 4 actually lost a few features in terms of gameplay, career, and home customization. But they built it on a new engine and it has fewer bugs and much better performance. The main problem in Sims 3 was your world cache building up to ridiculous sizes and causing stutters that never went away. Sims 4 did things differently and now it doesnt matter how much you do or build, you wont get the stuttering. Ultimately you can play a particular Sim much longer than before. However, since you cant actually do as much stuff, its a mixed blessing.

Sims 2 had a ton of mods for free, albeit nearly ten years ago...
