My choice goes to Methylene Chloride.

Why is it that everything that works is either bad for you or the environment or both?

Same goes for food although I'd don't recommend eating this stuff. It smells good though. I found some cans of belt dressing that contain it and found it to be the most effective take down agent for hornets and other nasty flying insects. Gotta be careful where you spray it though!

Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)

Used to use this stuff to scrub 5-gallon paint cans way back when as part of my responsibilities in a previous job. The stuff is nasty - for the first few shifts, even walking into the paint room containing the MEK drums would make you nauseous. Of course now you are required to wear gas masks if you work in that department. Guess I was one of the guinea pigs. 🙁
