Wattage, efficiency, reliability, price. What would be the best overall power supply out there for the gamer looking to build a solid system?

Corsair's Hx620w and HX520w are probably the two most recommended PSU for the standard gaming setup right now. I think it's a nice blend of price, reliability, quality, and specifications :)

PC Power & Cooling Silencer Quad 750 if you need more watts/more amps. High-powered, high-quality, and quiet. During testing, they've been shown to output 800+ watts without a problem. The only thing about it is that it isn't modular, which might get annoying...

You forgot noise and functionality (modular). ;)

Depending on rebates EA 500w can't be beat. It's not modular, but that's the only thing I can think of. For a gamer a vx450/550 would do too.
