Like others here I'll be having meatloaf this weekend! Mmmm, you make me hungry.

I use the recipe on the oatmeal box. At least it used to be on the oatmeal box. Oatmeal, tomato product, meat, egg, onion, sat, pepper. V8, ketchup, tomato juice, tomato paste, whatever happens to be sitting around.

The only Meatloaf I like is the band. :D

That is the worse of the two. Both could possibly be bad for your health. One the heart, the other the ears....well actually the band can be bad for your heart also;)

I recommend:

3T dark brown sugar
2T olive oil
12oz warm filtered water (nuke for 90 seconds)
2t salt
1c whole wheat flour
3c white flour
1¾t dry yeast

Bake on white/basic with light crust. Be sure to use filtered water, this actually makes a big difference...the consistancy becomes harder if you use tap water.

That's hilarious. That's the same one I use. We made it last night - no joke. The kids and wife love it. Easy to make.

One note - I do not put the Ketchup and brown sugar on the bottom of the pan. I do the loaf and then put the sauce on top.

I tried this recipe 2 nights ago. It was great. I was out of ketchup though, I spread the brown sugar on the bottom of pan & sprinkled a little Worcestershire sauce on it. Awesome.

Tried the recipe posted by Uppsala9496. Very tasty but a bit too sweet. Next time I will reduce the amount of brown sugar by half.

Bumped this thread to say I've made this receipe twice so far ... while both times it came out yummy I found it actually tastes better using 85% lean ground chuck then leaner 93% ground sirloin which I found a bit surprising.

Also I doubled the receipe the second time around & had to add about 20 mintes cook-time @ 350f.

I do about the same thing, but I use tomato paste instead of V8 juice, and I use 2 eggs.

Also, I make a glaze out of tomato sauce and brown sugar that I coat it with in the last 30 minutes of cooking.

A nice skin of tomato paste for us. No sugar. Italian bread crumbs instead of bread.
