I myself have always thought Reznor's contribution to Quake was slightly overrated. Sure there is some good stuff in there, but there's also a lot of well, just weird sounds trying to be a soundtrack.

Anyway, both of the Quake CD's have some good stuff, lately I've been playing a lot of Halo & several times the soundtrack has really impressed me.
