I'm at the computer most of the day and my current, uncomfortable, chair has begun to crack and fall apart. What is the most comfortable chair you guys would recommend? I don't want a lazyboy or something huge, just a office chair that's decently priced.

Comfortable and decently priced are almost mutually exclusive in computer chairs, if you are using it more than a couple hours a day.

Aeron hands down. Yes, you can buy like 4 or 5 separate office chairs as one Aeron, but your butt and back will thank you for it.

I have this chair.
It goes for $4740, I got it used for $75 from a furniture dealer who had no idea what he had. :D

Easily the most comfortable chair I ever had.

I just bought an AK design octane chair from best buy (best buy exclusive), and it is a very very very nice chair for the money. Not as fancy as some of those $500 and up chairs, but it is comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time, is very adjustable, and the polyurethane wheels are a really nice touch.

what ... the ... hell ?

What makes that thing worth $4800 ? It has the same shape and style as many common office chairs. Oh wait- does it come with Jessica Alba maybe ?

Another vote for the Herman Miller Aeron, I used to go thru those $100 office store leather chairs every 2 years (the cushioning would detoriate and my back would start hurting). Bought an Aeron 3 years ago and it's still going strong, worth every penny and then some!

The fact that some rich people are willing to pay for some Italian big-shot designer dude's signature engraved on the back of it. Nothing more. I wouldn't pay more than $200 tops for it. Sure, it's very comfortable and is really great leather, but whoever pays that kinda money for a chair is out of their minds IMO.

I chose the Mirra over the Aeron, but either would be a far better choice than your standard office chair.

The best is traditional like this. Not the cheap minimally padded and un-sprung junk they try and push on consumers these days. Probelm is it's about $1500 starting.

I've had a Hon Pillowsoft (2090 Series) chair for over 5 or 6 years now and still love it. I think they're about $300 at OfficeMax now.

My only possible complaint about it is the arms aren't padded... if they had the same foam the seat/back does it'd be the perfect chair.

Hon link.

Hmmm... it's doesn't look all that comfortable from the pics. In fact, it looks nearly identical to a $200 computer chair I got from Office Max. But I haven't sat in one so it may well be as you say. Great find though.

But I did have a Miller Aeron chair at my previous job. That thing was awesome.

I really like it because of the wheels, thats what sold it for me. I have carpet in my computer room, and while the plain office chair with the plastic wheels did roll on it, it didnt roll so well. This chair has those giant roller-blade style wheels, and glides across the carpet with ease (like the reviews say). The chair itself is very comfortable, much more so than my old office chair, and sitting there gaming in the chair for a couple of hours isnt a problem at all. The fully adjustable arm rests are a plus, and I just like the looks of the thing.

Here are a couple of reviews I found prior to buying the chair, that go into more detail than I can. I have only had mine for a week now, but it is the most comfortable computer chair I have owned so far.

It's VERY comfortable, trsut me. It has some nifty features which I haven't seen elsewhere, but it's still a ridiculous waste of money.

La-z-boy Presidential link is one of the most comfortable chairs around. Go to a la-z-boy store, they're everywhere and see for yourself. I don't know hat decently priced means? $1500 ok?
