The best book for C++ Windows Game Programming?

Becuase I need a book that does games,but under windows,not MS-DOS. MS-DOS C++ doesnt help me any.

not gonna happen. programming books (especially those dealing with games, etc) will never be cheap. Expect $20 if you're lucky, $40-$50 if you're realistic

I am reading Beginning Direct3D Game Programming. It's a really good book, but it looks like it's too rich for your blood.

I mean it costs $40, which it looks like you're not willing to spend.

My advice is to go hang out on www.gamasultra.com and look at all the tutorials and stuff there.
