what is the best, fastest, and smallest ide hd out there?

i was thinking about raid for the os and applications while putting data on a 5400 (maybe 80 gigs) HD.

therefore, i dont need to raid together 2 40 giggers cause that would be a waste.

any thoughts and opinions???

Just get a small maxtor drive, alot of them are at 5400 and good for data storage if that's all you want to do with it. They come in a number of different sizes right down to 20gigs or up to 160gigs.

If you want two small ide fast drives, also look at some of the maxtor 7200 rpm drives. They also come in all different sizes(specifically the d740x drives are good choices if you want fast drives to do raid). Good luck.

What do you mean by "small"? as in physical dimensions or storage capaicty? Because 40 and 80 gigs are hardly small. I have a 600 meg seagate if you want it.

i mean small by capacity.

i want something like 2 15 or 20 giggers to make a raid 0. small so that it can have just my programs on there.

then i want like a huge 5400 (maybe 80 or 100 gigs) to have all my data.

what do you guys think?
