The best 56k gaming modem?

Ah great tyrant, I think you're the only one that's on the right track to the point of my post. You picked the company that I read somewhere else that their supramax external usb was a very good gaming modem. That would be this one on newegg, Here.
That one is serial but I heard there is little difference between usb and serial modems. As for having a friend within 10 miles with broadband? I don't have any nerd friends within 10 miles...

Give me a break dude, I was on dialup for 8 years. I've only had cable for 15 months, so I know what your pain is. However, you're being a total prick about this, and I'm surprised anyone has wanted to help you at all. You don't seem to understand, not only do games like CS:S require awesome rigs, they require a good amount of bandwidth too. I feel lag if my little sister is on LimeWire on the network.

I'd gladly play you in Source right now, give me an IP and about 20 minutes. I haven't played in about 2 months and I'm willing to bet I'd pwn you based on your connection alone, although your cocky attitude makes me want to kill you for more than just proving a point.

There has been like two people that posted what I asked, everyone else has done nothing but harass me and diss the 56k. I'm thrilled everyone thinks dialup sucks so much, at least i'm not pessimistic bastard that makes useless posts like that. What happened to the rule if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. As for the cs:s challenge, bring it.

Ok seriously now, with 56k your always going to be at a disadvantage, you can try to bum cable from someone .8miles away, imo its not worth it and stick to RTS type games. When i had 56k i had some diamond max POS, and i didn't have many problems with lag.

The best modem for gaming at least in my exp is the White external USR modem it's serial and I forget the series name, you could flash upgrade the 33.6 ones to 56k, it's their data/fax line not the courier line. Under $50 in most cases and pretty much the most reliable modem money can buy.

There are other options that would give you serious ping and bandwith pwnage. One it called DS3. One is called T1. One is called T3. One is called ATM over SONET.

Perhaps you should read up on these, however given the last 15 posts or so,I believe reading up on such would make your small mind explode with the realiztion that your connection does indeed suck major ass.
