Here is what Fern, Matt1970, and boomerang are getting their "info" (I use the term loosely, since they are more lies then information)

Faux News and their "coverage"

So fair and balanced? LOL

My fave part-

144 interviews of GOP members of Congress versus only five interviews of Democratic members of Congress and Obama administration officials

The essence of propaganda is repetition. You can pound a square peg into a round hole if you keep at it long enough.

Benghazi is the new birth certificate.

Among Righties, the word invokes a conditioned response, causing them to temporarily lose an easy 10 points off their IQ score.

Like reading scripture, a segue from Benghazi to any subject helps them get their minds right to bypass rationality.

Crap, nobody say "Benghazi", we can't take being only 40 IQ points smarter than lefties!

My eyes glaze over and my ears shut whenever I hear the word "Benghazi." It's like running across a "truther."

It is purely a GOP red flag "issue" of any significance only to the fanatical choir. Hopefully they won't wise up until after the election that the vast majority of us don't give a crap about their conspiracy delusions.

The first open hearing of the select Benghazi Committee is tomorrow so I fully expect this thread will continue. With the reporting of selective submission of documents to the Accountability Review Board after filtering by Hillary's top echelon the outcome of the investigation could be huge. We have the potential for exposure of a conspiracy of proportions not seen for decades. The kind that can scuttle a presidential candidacy.

So which REPUBLICAN candidacy will be scuttled by the partisan conspiracy of the REPUBLICANS to parlay the Benghazi tragedy into politcal gain? Its simply outrageous that they would attempt to purchase votes on the corpses of dead Americans. Jackals and vultures, carrion eaters, the filth of the earth, all are apt descriptors of the Republican right on this issue.

Honestly, I do think it's an important matter. We lost an ambassador, something that hasn't happened since the Carter era (and then only while moving, when you're more vulnerable.) It may even be a scandal; somebody seriously fucked up. I just don't see it's a political scandal.

Righties are as smart as everybody else, outside the realm of their conditioning.

Pavlov's dogs were no different than any others.

Benghazi is the new birth certificate.

Hell, we have posters in this very thread that argued, and I quote "IMO, the most logical reason (really, the only logical reason) to stick with the Certificate of Live Birth is that the original (or long form) birth certificate would raise far more questions than it answers. In which case, the logical thing is to stick with it and keep fighting lawsuits etc.".

We could go on all day with the complete lack of reasoning skills many P&N conservatives display on Benghazi and IRS, but just like with the birther movement, it'll just work itself out over time when nothing comes of either investigation and we're back here pointing out all the time they've wasted on now non-controversial issues.

I suspect if that was actually the case we wouldn't have about 800 posts with a lot of them being Libs/Dems trying desperately to convince others that nobody cares.

Also, the polls say otherwise too.

Fern

Like the Fox News polls? Okay.

Benghazi didn't matter in 2012 and it didn't stop Obama from getting re elected. And it won't matter in 2016 and I assure you that Hillary will be our next president.

Yeh, but they still *Believe* in all of it, which makes them all the more likely to latch onto the next load of it that their trusted sources foist off on them.

It's quite intentional on the part of their leadership, like giving toddlers something safe & shiny. Best to keep their minds occupied with what you want rather than anything they might think about without guidance.

I believe Trey Gowdy is going to get to the bottom of it. I like his approach; follow the truth, no matter where it leads. That ain't partisan, it's getting answers. The only people that are having a problem with it are those who are afraid of what might happen when the truth comes out. Hillary will not be president.....ever. Some need to get over that. If we must elect a first female president, there must certainly be better choices than her. She is a very poor choice and of bad character. She brings nothing good.

Trey Gowdy won't get to the bottom of anything other than your bunghole, and only if you let him.

Repubs have scraped the bottom of the barrel so many times that it's starting to get really thin. The fact that you believe there's some bottom other than the one found many times shows just how badly you want to believe in conspiracy.

It was trumped up crap when Mittens first spewed it, and it hasn't gained any qualities in the meanwhile.

Meh, The Repub controlled House voted to repeal the ACA 47 times(?) so I guess by the 47th hearing on Benghazi they should either be satisfied with the results or the incident becomes a limp noodle to lash the Dems with like the ACA has become.

I'm wondering who the next Repub House member will be to call a hearing on Benghazi to bump their popularity ratings up with the Tea Party loonies.
