i have no doubt that your code is "cool" and all, but I wouldn't expect anyone to get all hyped up about it. If you are really interested in some weird stuff that can be done in SQL, grab one of Joe Celko's books (sql for smarties, I think) or this book from amazon. There is a lot of stuff in there that I think is actually pretty stupid to do in SQL vs. some other language (ie, like transposing tables or showing hierarchical relationships between entities), but it is kinda cool to see queries with triple self-joins and whatnot.

I tend not to make my T-SQL too complex. I usually have simple T-SQL and complex ASP/VBScript. And yes, I have printed out ASP files and VB DLLs with T-SQL in them for the hell of it. :p

I have never wanted to print out my SQL code...but I love speeding statements up. I had a programmer complaining that a UDF I wrote was too slow. I explained to her that I had optimized the UDF as much as possible, but that it unfortunately had a bunch to do and really wasn't that slow. I asked her if I could take a look at the statement she had used it in. Well the statement she had written was taking over 4 hours to run, but when I got done with it (quick fix), the statement took only 6 minutes. She was shocked. I guess that it just feeds the ego or something... I'm a guy...I won't deny I enjoy that.

I recently drew a network map that was pretty enough to be on the wall. Unfortunately, I don't have any crayons so I had to use MS paint to make it...

Have any of you written some SQL statements that were so beautiful and elegant that you wanted to print them out
on a piece of paper and hang them in your office?
For your own safety, don't ask that in real life. :D

I'm quite 1337 when it comes to BASIC. I started learning BASIC before I knew the alphabet!

Commodore CBM
GW-BASIC
QBASIC
Quick BASIC
Visual BASIC

I've been around and done a lot when it comes to BASIC. I thought about putting some code from some pretty sweet games on the wall, but my ADD wouldn't let me really finish any of them to that state of perfection. I'm paralyzed with a constant desire for perfection, and nothing I ever do is good enough to call it truly finished. I simply call something finished when I'm forced to move on to my next project.

Edit: Let's not forget Compaq Advanced BASIC, TI-BASIC, and some generic Linux BASIC stuff I found a few months ago

oh well... I guess this is the kind of skill I'll need if I want to be a professional writer or something... to never be distracted from an uber masterwork
