It's pretty obvious now after the Nobel Peace Prize boycott that if WW3 were to happen, the major players on the allies side would be USA, India, and Japan. The major players on the axis side would be China, Russia, and Iran. Israel would make the smart move and sell stuff to both sides

Israel would definitely jump on the chance to wipe Iran off the face of the earth.

It would be pretty much all of Europe/North America, Japan, SK, India against the most of the Middle East, China, NK, and Russia I think.

Most of Africa and South America probably wouldn't be involved.

Though it really isn't in China's interest to go to war with anyone. Russia is the one without much to lose.

This. They are smart enough to realize that what they could gain militarily could be gained (albeit take longer) through financial avenues instead.

Well, if you wanna draw battle lines, there are other factors that can be considered but the Nobel Peace Price is a sham anyway, including this year's and has been for quite some time.

The US wouldn't make it through WW3. After the first 3 months, people would be wondering why we were still fighting and launch protest marches to bring the troops home.

Only real way WW3 will kick off is if Israel launches a preemptive strike because they found nukes in Iran or found legitimate intelligence that Iran is actually building nukes. Then Iran will strike back, we'll have to help Israel, etc. I doubt WW3 will revolve around N.K. since we won't be hitting them preemptively, only reactively. If N.K. hits S.K. first again, especially with a nuke, China won't be backing them since the entire world would be against N.K.

I think Israel could handle Iran on its own. If we didn't intervene at all, I'm not sure anyone would come to help out Iran either.

I doubt the US could help itself though. We pretty much need to be involved with every global conflict just for the hell of it.

The deeper question is who would be the Allies and who would be the Axis?

Queue the Sliders theme song.

Aren't Russia and China rivals? I don't see why they would become allies.

WW3: A combined Muslim nation under a Caliphate vs the Western World.

Wouldn't be much of a war. You'd think with all the oil money they have they would actually be capable of developing a modern military. Soon enough all the oil will run out though and they won't have much to show for it all.
