That's part of what amuses me, and makes it all seem like a whole bunch of identical birds putting identical plumage on themselves so that they look "different." Someone in the college's media center suggested using off-white resume paper for my resume, to make it "stand out" a little. You don't think that she'd give that same advice to everyone wanting to get resume copies printed?Originally posted by: yllus
I have 6 pairs of shoes myself, but that's counting a pair of sandals and not counting my soccer cleats.
Shoes are fairly important. It's the little things that differentiate you from the crowd, whether the situation be a job interview, working a sales job or picking up women. A fair-sized stable of shoes are pretty much a requirement to looking your best.
The career fair sounds like a whole bunch of people doing the same things so that they can all appear more unique that everyone else there. "Oh wow, you wore a white button-down shirt with a tie too? What a great idea, I'm glad I also thought of it"
"Remember, you're unique. Just like everybody else."
I never have liked shoes. When I was little, and my mom bought me my first pair of shoes, as soon as I stood up in them, I froze in place. She said that I started walking like my feet were encased in concrete, and I started crying. I really hated them.
I still don't especially like shoes. It's difficult to find a pair that doesn't make my feet hurt in some way, either on the bottom from poor shape or cushioning, or blisters/rashes from poorly finished insides rubbing against my skin constantly. When I get home from class or work, my shoes are off before anything else happens, usually before I even close the door behind me.
