edit: after a second look at the stamp. maybe it is just a US flag and they were stupid. because the scale is out between the 2 flags. US flag is way too zoomed in respect to austrian flag if it is 2 flags..

You might have an argument. The left sides looks to be your strongest point. However one thing I noticed is that there is an extra fold and star on the left side of the stamp, which is absent on your banner. Is that the exact version of the banner you posted? Is there a larger version out there? The shadows could have been easily added, but that fold and star looks extremly natural.

Actually the stars and blue section is identical, save for some cropping. By "identical" I mean exact dimensions, identical jpeg artifacting ..

I won't accuse anyone of anything, but I will say that I could much more easily create the political banner from the stamp image than vice versa. 🙂
