Now, before you judge, I'm not actually sad, and no, those lyrics (especially from the VAST and Zwan songs) aren't applicable to anyone, or at least I guess aren't applicable to anyone right now. I just like those songs and are looking something musically stylistically similar.

So, lyrical content isn't as important as style. There are a couple of other songs I can think of that might qualify as "sad", but they aren't stylistically similar ("A Rainy Monday" by Shiny Toy Guns, for example).

Not sure if you're only looking for male vocalists, but I like Rachael Yamagata. The closest match to the songs you listed is probably "The Only Fault" but there aren't any good youtube links for it (check imeem)
