I love the barracudas which swim 30feet offshore waiting to come eat you when you go swimming...

Pacific is better for the typhoons > hurricanes.

But while lately the GOM seems to have the most devastating storms - long tracking Cape Verde hurricanes still own the GOM for intensity. Seems the GOM ones bring a lot of water but you can't beat CV canes for wind speed intensity and damage (on Average!!! I know I know certain storms were very powerful in the GOM!)

Sunrise over atlantic, sets over GOM - FL Keys FTW!

I stuck my feet in the Indian Ocean when I was in Thailand. Very warm - then again it was July.

There are sunsets on the Atlantic also. It all depends on which side of it you live.

ATTENTION: OBVIOUS PARODY THREAD.

This thread is clearly a PARODY THREAD.

The poll is a sarcastic PARODY. There is no poll! :p

The OP is also reacting like a PARODY in his fake serious responses to posters in this thread.

And just in case you need a clearer definition of the many uses of the word PARODY when used to lock threads please see the broad reaching Wikipedia definition of Wikipedia - PARODY.

You can't just single out one user over another when arbitrarily locking threads just because of personal favoritism.

You obviously are a bitter Pacificer who has no rebuttal to the awesomeness of the Atlantic and so are trying to kill an important thread. Go back and wallow in your cold water misery or come to the warm, swimmable waters of the Atlantic.

You should not be a seacist. There are some really good seas although they do not get the attention that the oceans get. I like the South China Sea and its warm temps.

The atlantic is so so... but last summer when I went to OBX in July... the water gave me severe shrinkage it was so cold.

haha ya. We're going to meet the Pacific later this week. We've already weathered through two storms, and it's getting rougher and rougher as we get closer to Cape Horn :(.

I've posted this pic in two other threads before, but here's a pic of a storm we passed through last week:

We're currently circling the Falklands. It's interesting, we have quite a bit of British scientists, an ex-navy captain of the Argentinian Navy (who haven't been in these waters since he fought against the British in 1982), and a number of Argentinian Navy scientists aboard. Heh, and just yesterday, we could see the easternmost lighthouse beacon from the Islas Malvinas (aka the Falklands).

 holy shit!

What do you do on the boat?
