At this point I think even Duron sounds better.

Every processor has always had a "techie" sort of name.

Unless AMD changes it, it's going to take a bit of getting used to.

Yea... isnt this the same kind of reaction when they decide to call K7 "Athlon"? I dont think Barton sounds that bad.

Intel might show a horrible lack of imagination with each subsequent Pentium family, but they never get any sort of acceptance problems like this.

Yea, Pentium, Xeon, Itanium, they all seem to be well accepted by the public.

Exactly what people said when they decide to call K7 "Athlon", I guess history does repeat itself. Give the name a break.

I agree, that's a HORRIBLE name for a processor. Then again, people said the same about "Athlon" and I rather like that name now.

At least the name "Duron" I thought was good from the start...

I agree with LXi. I remember the name frenzy we had on the forums when we found out the K7 was going to be called Athlon.

*sigh* :( I guess with all the money they're making off the Athlon they can afford to smoke some premium crack! That's the only explanation I can think of for why they'd come up with a name like Barton!

Barton, the cpu that spanks the P4 silly then says, "Don't have a cow, man!"
