I heard their song The Boys of Summer on MTV and it has caught on to me. I really like the song. Do they have any other songs like it?
They butchered that song.

have, you've got to be kidding.. it sounds almost identical to the original... the first time i heard it, i didtn even realize it was a cover until after teh song was over and the DJ said it was the Ataris, and then I realized that it hadnt been my imagination, it did sound a little different. I dont think they butchered it enough.

anyhow-- has anyone noticed how the classic rock stations have been playing the Don Henley version a lot lately-- i hear it at least 2-3 times a week on the classic rock station here on my way to work in the morning. They never played it before the Ataris redid it.

They butchered that song.

It's a good cover, maybe better than the original.

No way. They sped it up too much.

The cover is not that bad at all. Just some people being stupid anal retentive and think they are fans of music, but in reality have pretty clueless opinions. It is just a pseudo punk cover of it, and I think they did a pretty good job.
I like classic rock quite a bit, however I am not anal enough to say any cover of a classic rock song has to be a butcher.

I love the ataris, good stuff. I like "In This Diary" better from So Long Astoria but I think the whole album is pretty good if you like poppy punk.

The Ataris arent a new band. How's that cave treating you?

And the cover is supposed to be fast. They're "punk" if you can call them that, or whatever category.

I stand corrected.

I don't remember hearing any other singles from them, so it was a 'breakthrough' to me.
