Just played about 5 rounds and it's definitely fun. Injects some much needed life into Bad Company 2. If you didn't like BC2 then you won't like this as it's exactly more of the same but it's fun if you enjoy the gameplay. Seemed much more fast paced than regular BC2.

Now Available - Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam

Product Release - Valve 00:50
Start playing now! Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam is now available on Steam.

Get ready for a whole new war, as DICE's massively popular online shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 makes the journey back to the 60's and the infamous Vietnam war.

twitter.com/zh1nt0: "Vietnam codes are gradually being rolled out to everyone who pre-ordered."

I ordered from the EA store and just got my code via e-mail!

Maps are terrible.
Many reused guns from BC2.
Only 5-6 guns per class.

The only thing this game has going for it is the soundtrack.

Not worth $15.

I just played a few rounds of Vietnam. Thoughts: Awesome!:awe: Awesome!😀 Awesome!

Everything seemed to be unlocked already, to me.

Didn't notice until the end of one round that someone that someone was trying to get my attention in chat, ie, "Is this Gully from Anandtech.com?" Sorry, I was not ignoring you, I just didn't notice the messages in the heat of battle. Yeah, it was me 🙂

I just spent 3 hours playing it. Godamn AWESOME. The maps are great visually. Very back and forth. The sounds (love the grenade launcher FWOMP), the guns. Love it.

For some questions: I don't think you have to unlock anything, I had all guns available to me.

The key is there when you right click properties on BC2 in your steam games list. I lost the game entry but just went through the main menu in BC2 to Vietnam (it's a button on the left).

Had a good few rounds with Zargon. The game is pretty tight. Graphics are good but definitely a different, darker feel than BC2. Love the burned out level and the rice paddy level. FPS is solid - a bit higher than BC2, and much more constant - I was getting 61-69 FPS, no spikes.

As for weapons...love the crack of the m16. And that m79 Bloop Tube - not too precise but oh so much fun when you have Charlie pinned down. Flamethrower I'm not so sure about yet...only good in the really CQC areas, of which there are only a few.

Oh yeah, and after 8 months of trying, I finally got my naval warfare pin after about 30 seconds on the gun of a patrol boat. Just shows how stupid the grenade launcher on the vanilla BC2 boats is.

I don't remember yet and won't play this game until tomorrow but is AA fixed in Vietnam? I remember 2x and 4x AA made almost no difference in vanilla.
