Wait, wat? What's considered an "armored target"?

Before last patch you could use it to shoot and do damage to all armored vehicles. Now its just like normal rifles in that regard.


I used it to shoot helis and APC and kill people inside them. Unlike other rifles you just dinged them.
 
Life gets easier after you get the Gustav and tracer dart. The SCAR is a pretty decent gun, and probably my favorite after the UMP. I got my Gustav platinum last night with a triple kill attacking Alpha on Innocentes. I've been using the RPG a lot more lately as well. Since they nerfed the Gustav, it takes about six hits to the side of a Bradley to take it out, but the RPG does it in two. Nothing beats a Gustav for helis though. I had my best round as an engie taking out helis with it. I think I got 8 or 9 one round.
Man, nerfed, not enough in my opinion. Fucking hate that shit. Considering all of the weapons in the game, getting killed by that POS as much as I do, yeah I hate it.

So they aren't touching VOIP? Lame.
Agreed. The lack of attention and fixes to this problem pisses me off. I think a fix (and not a half-ass one at that) would greatly increase team and squad cooperation, and thus the whole gameplay experience.
 
Is that better then having the upgraded explosives? I have the CG already not sure if I should leave that as is and use Mag Ammo

magnum ammo is better than explosives imo. unless you are on a vehicle heavy map...or using the at4 or rpg. Gustav's primary role is an anti-infantry rocket, and you dont need huge explosions for that
 
I'm pretty happy with they have been doing to the game, but it's just stupid for them to tweak a gun like the AN-94 which didn't need it to begin with and now nerf that tweak. It makes me wonder if they've worked on too many shooters and need a brain break.

Hmm, looks like this could be interesting with it comes out. Too bad I'll be gone for it and probably the one after it as well :\

I'd have to agree. I've done my fair share of CG abuse, but I think BC2 would be a much better game without it.

Explosives increases the blast radius on nades/40's/rockets. A bigger exploding CG means more kills/less aim.

this is my biggest gripe....coming from someone who isn't in a clan...doesn't have a buddy to hook up with in this game it is solitaire most rounds as everyone else is on team speak or some other variant
 
Still, bigger blast radius = potentially more kills. Am I right?

meh, you only get 3 rockets so unless you are sitting on someone with an ammo box it isnt as good with magnum ammo, in hardcore, it is 3-4 shots with the ump. and if you dont suck you can spray multiple targets down prety easily
 
UGH! oh well, I'm done with assault unlocks now anyway. Time to work on that pesky engineer class. No matter what, I simply cannot kill that well with SMG's

You don't need to kill at all with Engie. Just repair tanks/apc's and you'll upgrade in no time. Just like medic. You don't need to kill. You get more points doing the class specific things with any class then you do killing.
 
They are removing the "buff" it got in the last patch. Sorry man. (Where's that beer smilie when you need it!)

If I play with the AN94, my KDR is consistently above 1, and more importantly, it gives me the confidence to engage even CGers knowing that if I hit first there is a good chance of killing them before they can aim and blast me to bits.

If the AN94 is nerfed, what would be the best AR then?

i recall reading in this thread, that even with the nerf to the m16...and the buff to the an-94. the m16 still has a faster kill time, assuming all shots hit.

Aim better. Any gun can kill fast if you aim at the head.

Eh? With the explosives ammo upgrade you get 8 rockets. And see my note above about using entire clips of ammo on someone only to have them turn around and pistol me in 1 or 2 shots. (Yes, I know how to aim)
 
I used to think the CG was hacks but its rather the only long range weapon the eng has. If there is an assult trying to snipe you from a good distance away your SMG isnt going to do crap. Thats were the CG comes in for the distance shots!!! I have noticed though that less people are actually going eng these days unless the map is like made for them. I feel half the time is maybe me and 2 other engineers alot of time on maps with a 32 person server. For the most part I use the eng for helo defence(tracer dart) and vechile defence. It is rather self gratifying when a sniper is trying to sniper you from a very long distance and you CG him and you know he is QQ/raging .

It was (IMHO) the best assault gun to begin with, for some reason DICE increased it's damage in the last patch and is now putting its damage output back to what it was before the patch.
 
BC2 has LOTS of random elements to it. Never mind the exploits or map/class imbalance. When I'm defending, the AI LOVES to spawn me next to the gunfire. Quite often, I'm spawned into middle of mortar strikes.

Even as attacker, I have to constantly watch for gunfire from back. There's always those sneaky sniper/engi that sneaks back to your old positions and shoot you from the back. You can't really counter them without wasting tons of effort.

Then there's always the idiot teammates....

It aaaaaaaaaaaaalways spawns me in the middle of a shit storm when defending. I can't tell you how many times that happens on rush. I'd bet up to 1/3 of my deaths come from spawning directly in front of a sniper slug traveling at the speed of sound.

QFT. I loved the AN94 before the patch. After the patch it was so good I would stalk it if it were a voluptuous woman.

I can't really think of any times that I've spawn in a horrible place like that. Maybe once or twice in a mortar strike. I usually spawn on my squadmates if at all possible though.
