Since they gave the tracer dart such a huge buff, I think they should give UHs explosive rounds. It's too difficult for the gunner to get kills the way I have to fly the heli now. I can get 2 maybe if I'm lucky before I get tagged with a dart.

Also I finally got a 2.0 k/d :D Took my forever but I did it.

thats why they should add counter measures to heli's. 1 shot kill on them even with vehicle armor vs 2-4 on a tank. Totally not fair.

Grats on the 2.0 kdr =D

Is the m95 much better than the m24 for sniper rifles?? I'm doing pretty good with the m24, and the m95 stats don't look THAT much better.

Depends on what you're shooting. I personally prefer the GOL with MA over all of them

It drops less so I find it easier to hit far away targets. Also I like to run around with it with red dot + magnum ammo, but that kit works best on conquest maps like panama.

Anybody have any favorite "quotes" from your in game character?

I was playing Squad Deathmatch on Arica Harbor, in the city section. I'm at the top of the hill and I Gustav'ed some guy WAAAY down in the city. It was very satisfying. I'm guessing it was a revenge kill because my character spurted out "What comes around, goes around, bitch!. That's what I'm talking about!" I actually did LOL. It gave me warm fuzzies...:D

"Hell yeah! Did you see that shit?"

Somehow I don't think that's something that would be said in a real military hot-zone conflict. I know I'd be more worried about having my head blown off than I would be celebrating CG'ing some dude.

This...

In close quarters I will switch off to the VSS as that is a nice package...

The GOL is a popular one as well...the M95 with the scope add on is nice for reaching out and touching someone.

Since I have the unlocks I don't think I ever have gone back to the M24 unless by accident.

m95 for wide open maps due to less bullet drop...
GOL for wide open maps but generally for medium sized maps
VSS for closer engagements and multiple targets

If I had one wish for a sniper rifle add on it would be a scope that had range finding so it was easier to gauge the bullet drop...

Bullet drop isn't that big of a deal IMO (in all the cases where you really have to look out for bullet drop, the M95 still requires some adjustments, so its not like you can always just aim right at someone's head with it), some of my best marksman sniper headshots have come from the GOL and is likely due to its superior accuracy, I just have to learn how high to aim.

If there is a major reason to use the M95 its for its ability to damage light vehicles, particularly the choppers. Its also incredibly deadly at close range (granted, most sniper rifles are) so using a red dot sight isn't completely out of the question, although you'd might as well use a shotgun with slugs for that. If I'm playing more of an assault sniper I'd rather take the Type 88 or VSU or VSS with red dot as they're far more forgiving for missing a shot or not bringing down a target in one go (ie situations you'd be pretty screwed with any of the bolt actions)

But after coming back to the M24 after falling in love with the GOL, I've learned to love the M24 almost as much.

For med-long distance sniping I would probably rank the GOL and M24 over the M95. Its not bad, it just feels clunkier than the other two. I still need to log more time with the SV98.

Three recent Battlefield Blog posts:

What kits are people buying with Dr Pepper codes?

* BY: Bazajaytee
* POSTED : Apr 27, 2010, 02:15AM

In North America, Xbox 360 players can claim Dr Pepper codes against in game content in the form of the SPECACT kit upgrades. We have been watching what people are using the codes on in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and found that Assault is slightly edging in front of the most claimed content followed closely by Recon.

The kits claimed through Dr Pepper currently looks like this:

Assault - 28%
Engineer - 24%
Medic - 23%
Recon - 25%

You can find out more about the Dr Pepper promotion and what is available in BFBC2 at - http://www.drpepper.com/promotions/ea/prizes/bfbc2/

And this from Planet Battlefield: M1 Bayonette Showing in BC2 Stats

Wednesday, 28 April, 2010 at 14:15 PST | ^Scott^ | Print News
Players on the EA forums discovered on the official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 stats page that the M1 Bayonette has popped up under gadgets. It is listed as an all class gadget and the description reads "Special Unlock: WWII Weapon". Some speculate it might be added in the future, while others think it might have been taken out and just not removed from the stats page. Thanks Ezio3feb for the tip.

Interview w/ANDREAS CHRYSOVITSANOS,Technical Art Director@DICE

April 28, 2010 at 11:16 · Filed under BFBC2 and tagged: andreas chrysovitsanos, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, BFBC2, dice

Do you ever watch the end credits all the way to the end, after you’ve finished a good movie or game? I sure do!

I like to enjoy the soundtrack until the last note. I also check the crew involved out of simple curiosity. What sort of jobs? People from what parts of the world were involved and of which ethnicity?

And when I see a greek name I smile, which is sort of normal when you come from a small country. It’s nice to know that people with the same origin as yourself are creative and involved in a mighty project… Especially when there is a gerontocracy in place in the country in question, and young people cannot properly express themselves, be creative and prosper.

Andreas Chrysovitsanos‘ name was first on top of BFBC2 credit list and I was intrigued, because there are not many greeks in the video game industry (as far as I’m aware of). I decided to get in touch, he kindly responded to my interview request, so here you go.

I saw that bayonette stat and wondered what it was.

Also, is it impossible to get the all bronze weapon stars if you have the m1 unlocked? I have all of them but that one, and of course it's not registering kills properly. Also do mines count towards that?

yeah the m1 counts because i have all bronzes except that =\ just to be safe you should get the mine bronze star. its not too hard it only takes about 8 kills.

:(, all that hard work and frustration (damn you m14) for nothing I guess.

edit: I just noticed that some new pins showed up on bfbcs.com, the 'SPECACT' pins. Are these related to that DLC they just released?

Rumor: Battlefield Bad Company 3 at E3?

If you haven't checked out my post about the leaked E3 games list you should go on and check it out, this news post will be about the Battlefield rumor surrounding it.

<<image>>

As you can tell by the image it clearly states Battlefield: Bad Company 3 as a title from EA to be shown at E3, now using common sense this is most likely a false rumor. Bad Company 2 came out in early March so if Bad Company 3 is going to be shown at E3 that is only 3 and a half months after the game came out to show the new one. Highly unlikely, it would destroy there DLC plans and most likely sales, who would want to buy things for a game that will be obsolete in the near future?

Furthering my belief about the falseness of this is that Barrie Tingle Producer from DICE replied to the rumor saying it is just that a rumor. The big thing there though he does not confirm nor deny the rumor just saying that it is infact a rumor.

"As I posted on the console forum... This is a rumour about BFBC3 being at E3."

"This is a total rumour about BFBC3 being at E3."

Now my next theory about this whole ordeal is that it may infact be a typo, and what is meant to be there instead of "Battlefield: Bad Company 3" is "Battlefield 3". I see that happening way more than I do Battlefield Bad Company 3, Battlefield 3 has been in developement for a long time, and I could definately see us hearing something about it this year, if it is at E3 or somewhere else.

Just because this rumor may be false does not mean we won't see something new from DICE at E3, Battlefield 1943 was very successfull. With that said I hope they pursue more games like Battlefield 1943, small downloadable versions of Battlefield. We do know they will be at E3 for Medal of Honor since they are doing the Multiplayer side of the game.

Rumor: Battlefield Bad Company 3 at E3?[/URL]

lol did I read that right? Call of Duty MMO...?!?!?

I don't buy the BC3 will be at E3 already nor BF3. It makes more sense that Medal of Honor would be there.

Which brings me to how the hell is EA going to juggle BC3, BF3, MoH, BF1943 & the former CoD team's return to gaming...

EDIT: I guess a CoD MMO isn't so far fetched: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Call-of-Duty-MMO-Confirmed-Only-Coming-to-Asia-136522.shtml

Probably MoH if anything. Just a bit too soon for BF3, which I expect to see more of in the fall.

Had my first major WTF moment. Just walking along the backside of panama canal with no one around and I get a death notice that I just blew up a tank with a hand grenade killing 2 guys. Tank was all the way across the map, and I'd thrown a nade already and watched it explode. :hmm:

not sure about the grenade, but i think you can have 6mines at any 1 time and when you die, they stay there, so you may have left one earlier and somebody just hit it.
