I'm really starting to get frustrated with the lag situation. The first fifteen minutes I'm on a server, it's worse than the Tugboat ever was, and this is with <100 in game pings. Makes it pretty hard to jump in and enjoy a quick game when everyone is teleporting all over the map.

I had the opposite experience last night (though not on the Tugboat): in-game scoreboard ping ~90 (one of the lowest on the server), first 60 minutes was great, then it started steadily getting worse (sliding around without pressing anything, guys I'm watching teleport 10' at a time, etc.) over the next 20 until I just couldn't take it and went to a new one.

Since the patch I have been getting this more as well. The whole game stops for like 4 or 5 seconds, and this is with ping around 100 as well.
 
M2CG + EXPDMG still sucks ass. I am sick of getting fired at all the time by rockets.

When in rome...

I've taken to CG spamming lately since about half my deaths in a match are usually CG-related. CG's on hardcore are ridiculous. I spent last night on a HC server hiding in the bushes CG-sniping everyone hiding in buildings. Blow up a wall + take out the bad guy at the same time.
 
Me too. For some reason, I have been playing nothing but Squad Deatmatch for the last couple of weeks. Engi with the CG and UMP-45 (notice the proper order!), of course extra rockets, Explosive spec, is my default loadout. Love playing the Whitepass map, lots of destructible buildings. Look for a figure in a window then send in Carl. Lots of 2:1 K/D rounds. 😀

32 player Rush just seems to be getting too crazy. Attackers all seem to have their strategies down pat. If an MCom gets armed, it's almost impossible to disarm it. Constant mortar barrages, an endless stream of grenades and rockets, camped by vehicles, etc.
 
I discovered the "no dots in any sight on MG36 in HC" glitch yesterday

the 36 does OK work though

MG3....meh, way too innaccurate for HC

though I found for getting my crappy guns bronze stars hardcore is the best!!
 
That's strange. I've been getting AN-94'd a lot more especially from across the map, with a huge drop off in Gustav related deaths and a small dip in M60's.

I love the new tracer dart. It's actually possible to get it on a helicopter now.

I've been having fun as a shotgunning-knifing recon. I just have to always be sure to have my balls out.

I sort of dislike it for the same reason. Yeah, I suck as a pilot (I can fly pretty much in a straight line, but anything else takes an act of god for me to survive). Unfortunately, ONE rocket takes down a blackhawk and there's absolutely NO countermeasures to prevent it once it's locked on other than bail out.

It's nice as an engi to take out 5 people in one shot with the vehicle kill bonus, but it makes the overpowered chopper nearly useless now.

I found the MG3 + Red Dot + LMG Handling combo to be very good. Just have to use shortened bursts to be effective. Find cover, scan, shoot enemy, run for cover, scan, shoot enemy, run for cover, GUSTAV!!!
 
The CG is still awesome and I'm still whoring it even after the nerf. I have about 4500 kills with it (about a quarter of my total kills).😀
 
recently completed my M16 Plat and decided to break down some of my stats. pre-patch stats I played at the default LatencyCompensation / Interpolation setting (assume it's 100). post-patch stats I played at a LatencyCompensation / Interpolation setting of 69.

some things to note. I'd estimate I used 4X / Magnum 99&#37; of the time. post-patch stats was 99% Conquest play. pre-patch stats was 99% Rush play except for the AN-94 which was a mix of Conquest / Rush play.

first thing I'd like to comment on is that I believe that changing the LatencyCompensation / Interpolation does have an effect on how BC2 plays and can improve hit detection. I have an +8.69 and +4.28 post-patch increase in accuracy with the M16 and M416 which is quite the improvement.

second thing I'd like to focus on is hits / kill. I thought the post-patch M16 didn't really get nerfed since DICE added in a 1.25X body shot multiplier and 2.1X head shot multiplier into the latest patch, but a +1.35 increase in hits / kill proves otherwise. the post-patch M416 got a -0.44 decrease in hits / kill which makes sense given increases in body shot / head shot multipliers and increasing its base range. I don't have post-patch stats for the AN-94 and M60, but I think with the AN-94 averaging 9.53 hits / kill and the M60 coming in at 8.76 hits / kill, it's safe to assume the AN-94 would take lesser hits / kill post-patch and the M60 would probably be somewhere between 9 - 10 hits / kill.

my final rambling is head shot %. I think the reason why my M416 head shot % is higher than my AN-94 and M16 stats is due to the M416 not being confined to a 2/3 shot burst mode. for whatever reason, I feel like I try to aim more for the head while using the M416 and aim more for the body while using the AN-94 / M16.

While I do play with the AN-94 a bit more I have discovered a love of the MG36 in non-HC. I like the fact that it has a built in Red dot so I can carry extra ammo. It does feel a bit more in-accurate at long range than the M60 though ( I couldn't find an updated stat list so I don't know if thats true or just my impression)
 
yeah the AN seems like THE GUN now.

Yeah, it requires a bit more discipline/skill to fire at first; but you get used to it quickly. I am using only the AN+RDS+magnum these days, and it's probably the best assault rifle for medium - long range engagements. At medium range, in non-HC, it brings down most players with just 2-4 bursts. I also realized I tend to aim more for the head with the AN than other weapons due to the lower recoil and better accuracy (for me atleast).

The only scenario in which it sucks is in CQB or room clearing where rapid fire is essential; best to keep engagements at medium range to utilize its advantage. I tend to use the XM8 sometimes for short range combat (like the second stage of Arica), but after using exclusively the AN for the past one week, I got so used to the short bursts that I ended up using the XM the exact same way and getting killed with ridiculous frequency :/

The hit detection lottery seems to be the single most important factor in BC2 lol. On some servers with excellent hit detection, I end up getting a K/d of 2; on others with miserable HD, I end up with < 0.5. Exact same weapons, same latency, more or less the same set of players (we have only ~ 10 local servers here that most people play on, and my in-browser ping is always less than 20). The hit detection is really glitchy in this game...I can't remember any online FPS this bad; COD4:MW1 was pretty good IIRC.

Man your accuracy shot way up post patch on the M416 & M16!

I'm very disappointing in those guns after unlocking them as compared to the AN-94 they don't seem to have the same dropping power (pre-patch I'm talking). You need too many bullets to drop someone. That said though, it seems on certain maps and situations the M416 just works better and the AN-94 takes more effort. Not sure if it's just me or what.

That nails it for me, 32 players on Rush is chaotic, I'm dead more then alive because just like you said there's this constant wave of 'nades, rockets and mortars. I've also seen the 2-3 medic squads who are invincible. One will came just out of the way near the Com so his mates and spawn off him and the other medic does clean up while an assault and other medic go to town.

Since the patch I get nothing but hiccups when running this game. I can shoot someone point blank, see blood explode out of their face...then the game lags, I die, and they live. I have people warping all over the place too. It's just not fun any more. I was so pissed today while playing that I started punching myself in the head until I almost passed out. I've been great-amazing at every FPS I've ever played, and was good at this game pre-patch once I got the hang of it. I was going 17-3,15-5, and similar. Post patch if I go 1-15 or 3-25 I'm lucky. I think I was 0-20 a couple games recently. I'm done. Like I said, PM me for your free cd key.
