I finally got to play an hour or so, and it does feel a little better. Gustav is definitely harder to kill people, but it feels more fair. You don't just have to be in the area, you actually have to aim and aim fairly well. M60 is still a rapestick, but I didn't notice many people using it. 40mm seems kind of useless now, but maybe that isn't a bad thing.

Ok guys I'm going nuts. I've tried all sorts of things from modem resets to completely disabling my anti virus and still I get disconnects all the time. I might can play for 10 minutes, and then boom. or sometimes I might spawn and then freeze. I've never had a problem at all until yesterday and today. Any ideas on what to do?

Steam patched the game up for you right?

I wonder if it's a PB issue. I would try updating/re-insalling that or the game itself.

Actually it turned out to be a windows bug. I thought about it after I posted that and realized that it hadn't been restarted in awhile. Did that, problem solved. ^_^

I'm kinda disappointed. I have 56 kills with smoke grenades, but the game doesn't hand out stars for it. Oh well.

It seems that vehicle explosions will not effect infantry on the ground no matter how close they are to the explosion.
I beg to differ. I just played a few rounds as engineer and had at least 3 deaths by a friendly tank exploding as I was repairing it (apparently not fast enough, eh?).

Thats weird because I have never been killed by a vehicle explosion or even injured. Ive had them explode right in my face when repairing and Ive had them explode in my face when I jump out right before the vehicle explodes.

I think that when your vehicle explodes it does damage but since the tank is ''on your team'' if there is no friendly fire it does nothing to you.

So does anyone know what that one female quote, "I don't think anyone in this office knows what they are talking about" is all about?

It doesn't really fit into the military style game...

I always figured it was just an inside joke among the programmers. Maybe it's from a movie or something like that...

How long does it take to reach rank x in BFBC2? Do tell!

Interesting... I appear to be a little faster than the average as I'm just about rank 30 (<20k left) and I'm at about hour 52. According to that chart it takes almost 100 hours for the average gamer to get to that same spot... odd.

I wonder how big the sample size is?

It says in the article "Kazemi collected the data of 3,373 player profiles from BFBCS.com using their API."
A relatively small sample. And they are just averages, YMMV.

Wow....just discovered rooftop firing....wow. In white pass when you're in an attack of a house use the rocket launcher to blow a hole in the roof, jump out on it, and then rain down fire on your victims. Works great on hardcore; if you get fired on, just duck down behind the opposite side of the roof. Went 17-2 one round

Hmmm, can't seem to find the ATOT Tugboat server after this patch. I search for "atot" and "[atot]" and nothing comes up. Am I doing something wrong?

Which house?

I'm really liking how things feel after the patch. I've kind of turned into a Gustav whore lately because I want that platinum star, but it actually feels like it takes some skill to use now. It's more fun to take out a sniper on top of the hill on Innocentes when you know that you pretty much put it right at his feet and not fifteen feet away. I'm also hardly ever getting killed by the Gustav. I don't know if everyone that was spamming it was relying on the splash damage and not having to actually aim it or what. I also don't see nearly as many medics out and about now, which is kind of a good thing. The ones that are out there want to be, and not because that was the class that had the best gun. There seems to be just as many medkits and revives going on as before, with fewer medics sitting on ammo boxes raping people as they come around corners. I haven't spent much time with it, but the M60 doesn't feel much different to me.

IMO the damage wasn't reduced much, just the long distance accuracy. Burst firing is now the way to go.

Sweet, I'm gonna have to try this out. I play white pass a lot on squad deathmatch.

yeah it works great. For some reason people don't look onto the roofs very much when scanning an area to 'invade' I'll see groups of 3 or 4 guys running down the streets, I'll pick em off then duck back down the opposite side of the roof while reloading
