what I mean by this is that it seems like they barely take any time to arm/disarm a station. for example, a station gets armed and I sit in some spot camping the station and wait for defenders to attempt to disarm it. one defender does come by and I shoot and kill him, but the station somehow ends up disarmed. I know disarm time is is less than arm time, but the defender didn't last very long.

Funny you should mention this, since I've been wondering the same thing over the past couple days. I see it on the 360 version, too. It takes me far longer to arm/disarm than it does those who I see doing it. Very strange indeed.

One thing I can't seem to figure out is the damage with the m24. When I used it before, I rarely got a 1 shot kill. On this server, every time I landed a hit with the m24 it killed the guy, no matter the distance. Different server settings maybe?

You might have been in a HC server. The M24 is THE rifle to use in HC (at least as far as the rifles that I currently have access to). It's a 1-shot-kill 99.9% of the time.

In "normal" mode, each of the sniper rifles are 2+ kills. The M24 is handicapped under these circumstances due to its very slow bolt action. The Type 88 (I think it's called) has a much faster rate of fire. Even though it deals less damage, it's 2 shots just like the M24. So moral of the story: HC = M24, normal = something else.

Honestly, I rarely even play sniper in regular mode. I can't stand landing a difficult shot and not getting the kill for it.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't hardcore because I had the map and the crosshairs.

has anyone else experienced lag when watching a teammate or opponent arm/disarm a M-Com Station?

perhaps there was another defender that I did not see, but more and more often, it is becoming the case where I see people barely take any time to arm/disarm a station especially in kill cam.

Sometimes I get it where I can disarm it super quick, other times I'm just waiting to get blown up. I can't figure out a pattern.

Disarm takes a lot longer than arming. I'm not sure of the exact time but arming feels like it only takes a couple of seconds for me, while disarming feels closer to 7-8 seconds.

Here's the formula for the time to explosion:

Time it takes to disarm explosive by 98% and then get knifed by an enemy who ran past all your teammates who weren't paying attention + 0.5 second = explosion

That said I have noticed I am able to shoot people while disarming. The range of movement seems limited (move to far and you exit the 'disarming range') but it has saved my life while disarming before.

New Battlefield Blog post: BFBC2 on target to become the best-selling March release on record in North America and Europe with over 2.3M sold

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is currently on target to become the top selling title of March 2010. With over 2.3 million units sold it has become the best-selling March release on record in North America and Europe.

With 46 reviews awarding Bad Company 2 over 90 or higher (allowing for converting to a score out of 100 by www.metacritic.com) it is no wonder Battlefield Bad Company 2 is showing such strength in numbers throughout the game stats and social media networks:

--81 billion points have been earned in online multiplayer sessions
--43 million weapons and gadgets have been unlocked in online multiplayer
--Over 6 million video views on YouTube
--2.9 million hours have been spent playing online in the last 24 hours alone
--230k peak-concurrent-users (PCUs)
--Over 44k Twitter fans (most out of any EA title) http://twitter.com/OfficialBFBC2

Bad Company 2 has proven so popular that our servers experienced such overwhelming demand that EA and DICE have had to add even more hardware to handle the player numbers. We continue to monitor online play daily to make sure everyone can play as well as continue to work on the game for future updates and DLC which you can get at no extra cost with the VIP code (PC BFBC2 players will get the content in the form of downloads without the need for a VIP code).

Is Engineer easier than Assault? I started out playing the Engineer class and I would get 1000-2000 point games. Now i'm doing the assault class and if I get a 400 point game i'm considering a good game. I just can't figure out the weapons, anyone have any advice?

I wouldn't say engineer is easier. It's certainly easier to get points as engineer or medic than it is assault or recon. For assault, pretty much the only way to gain points is to kill or accomplish objectives. Sure, you can resupply, but most people probably die before they need a resupply anyway.

I was talking more about gun control. Its like I can't hit the side of a house with any of the assault guns. I've unlocked the XM8, F2000, and AUG plus the red dot and I have no luck at all. On the other hand with any of the Engineer guns I was a great shot. I just can't get used to the assault guns.

I personally clean up with the Medic class. I find the LMG's very easy to use (and I don't have the M60 yet).

Engineer guns have very low recoil, and fire pretty straight. Easy to hold down the trigger and keep hitting the target. But, it takes pretty much a whole clip to kill someone.

Assault weapons have a lot more kick, and if you hold down the trigger will spray all over the place. You need short controlled bursts. It should only take a few on-target bursts to take down an enemy. Less bulllets overall.

Edit took out "Early"...principle still holds.

Funny you say that, in my frustration with the assault class I switched to the medic class for half a round and was doing well. I double my assault score with the PKM.

This is really interesting. it seems that some of the best weapons can be unlocked early and the last weapons to be unlocked aren't any better in some cases. i didn't think this was true, though i'm only level 10 right now.

This part is of note:
On the "physics" of Bullet Drop, there are several types of bullets:
Bullet. The standard for all weapons from pistols to the weaker Recon Rifles. They are almost not affected by gravity at all.
Sniper_Bullet. A bullet affected by fake gravity. Used by the M24, SV-98, GOL, and Slug Shotguns
HMG_bullet. Used by stationary and vehicle mounted machineguns. That AND the M95 sniper rifle. It drops as much or slightly less than Sniper_bullet.
The feature of HMG_Bullet is that it can damage lightly armored vehicles such as Jeeps and Helicopters.
So that kind explains why I can't hit anything when I'm a sniper, and never seem to do damage while shooting at a helicopter. I see everyone else shooting at Heli's so I have been but according to this I'm not doing any damage.

Based off the above, it looks like I should stick with the T88 S for Sniper since it uses regular bullets and won't gravity drop like the others I was using.

I shoot at helis not to damage the craft, but to snipe people out of it. Possible if you get it just right.

Always a fun feeling when someone thinks they are going for a joyride in a blackhawk and you snipe them out of it...

I love it when rookie pilots fly straight and very slow...

I am not sure but I believe just about any gun can shoot through the windshield...it isn't like BF2 where you needed to have the 50 cal. to kill the pilot...

ARRRRRRRRGGG!! I just DLd the latest patch and now it wont run...I was gonna start my single player campaign but at the first screen I got a pop-up saying the game wont play unless you install the latest patch so I did

Well, now I can get a s far as the select screen for single player but as soon AS I select "Play" it punches back out to the desk top. Anyone else experiencing this?

Have you actually killed the pilot in BC2? I used to do it all the time in BF2, but I havent done it yet in BC2, and I try anytime I have the M95.

I did it once with the first recon snipe ... I can't remember the name of it, but it was hilarous. I sniped him, and it spun out of control, crashed, and I got the kill for the other guy + vehicle damage.
