Or we could just put in autobalance

Yeah... that will probably fix it.

But it isn't instant, so it doesn't prevent people from switching at the end to improve their win/loss ratio. Also, autobalancing in the middle of a round will frustrate friends who are trying to stay on the same team. The multiplier gives everyone an incentive to switch, but doesn't force it on you.

Anyways, there's no chance of them implementing this so autobalancing will have to do 😉

They could make it an instant balance, plenty of other games do instant balances, and stop people from joining teams with more people.

Also, is anyone else really frustrated with scrolling through your inventory? It's like it changes things up on you sometimes so scroll back to what you thought was your gun and you end up throwing a medic pack at someone.

YES. This has killed me countless times. I'll end up tossing a stupid proximity detector or something (as Recon) at someone while they stab my teeth.

I usually just directly choose my items using the 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys, which avoids that problem if you remember what number you're looking for.

Of course, that doesn't stop me from shooting tracking darts at armed foes as they spray me with a hailstorm of bullets. The darn things actually stick to people.

Alright, so can someone please help me out?

I, like others, cannot play the game. It installed fine, all my settings are set to lowest possible, including resolution, I've edited the .ini file to force DirectX9, etc. No matter what, single player, multiplayer, my game crashes back to the desktop. This happens after I sit at the "loading" screen to multiplayer for about a minute. Also happens when starting the single player campaign - about 30 seconds into the intro it crashes to desktop.

I have the rig in my signature below but have recently overclocked my 4200+ from 2.2 ghz per core to 2.5ghz per core.

What could it be??

TYIA,

Downloaded this game off steam last night and have spent hours and hours TRYING to play. So far I have racked up about 30 minutes of game time. I am never able to connect to a server. If I click play now I get a loading box then it just closes and I have to try and join again. If I refresh the server list nothing comes up. I am so frustrated with this game right now.

However, when I do get an actual chance to play, it is really fun. I love the game play and the graphics.

so is this game way better than MW2?

Well when I actually am able to connect to a damn server, yes, I think it is better than MW2. Better graphics, better environment. More strategy and skill and less run and gun.

For whatever reason certain servers actually log me out of EA online. So your best bet is to find the ones that do let you in, favorite them, and stick with those until some fixes are implemented.

Btw, when it does this you'll notice your name disappear from the top right. You'll need to go back to the main and hit 'login' again, although its a very quick login. Sadly, server browser will need to get all the data again. 🙄

TYIA,

Windows version?
Have you checked the Windows Event viewer after a crash?
Completely disable your sound card to see if that is the issue?

Yeah this is a much better way to switch weapons. CoD seems to avail itself better to weapon scrolling but when I re-aquaint myself with the number selection of BF I generally like it better (But there is always that annoying adjustment period where I endup trying to shoot my repair tool at the guy 5 feet infront of me instead of the SMG)

I just bought this game (on line in Japan) and have been trying to play online (unsuccessfuly). I can play single player, but When I try to input my CD key to play online, it tells me unable to connect. Any ideas?

VOIP Fix?
From EA Forums:

Apparently in your gamesettings.ini there is a spelling mistake

"VoipRecieveVolume" should read "VoipReceiveVolume"

Apparently if you fix this mistake and make the file read only (otherwise the game will do it again) then VOIP works so they say.

Anyone test this out?

Sounds farfetched to me. You'd think something like this wold make it work all or nothing, not work at first, then die. But hey, back up your file and you shouldn't cause any permanent damage trying it out...

Does anyone else find this game is just a total spam fest? Most of the maps are way too small for 32 people, and the squad spawning/medic reviving only makes it worse.

It just seems like the game consists of spawn, run five feet, get shot, die, repeat. Sorry, dying every ten seconds isn't fun, unless you're an ADD riddled 12 year old I guess. Do people actually like the chaotic feeling of stuffing too many people in a small map? It feels like trying to play on a 40 player CS server or a 32 player TF2 server... theres no skill involved, you just lob some grenades hold down mouse1 as you point your gun in the general direction of the big blob of enemies that are constantly shooting at you.

Whatever happened to actually killing someone because you were better than they are? In games like this when you kill someone, theres no sense of satisfaction since they either didn't notice you, or weren't shooting at you because they were too busy being shot by ten other people. The only satisfaction comes from the ADD candy "Hai, you killed someone!1! 50 pts" popups that are incessantly appearing on the screen.

The desert map is decent, it's big enough that the combat area isn't a complete clusterfuck. Port of Valdez is alright. The jungle map by the ocean(Valparisio?) and the snowy night map are terrible.

And don't get me started on the fucking snipers. :hmm:

If games like this and MW2 are the "future" of multiplayer FPS, you can count me out...

Off to find a good 16 player server :awe:

edit: Oh wait, I can't even do that, because the server browser is terrible. Thanks DICE 🙄
