Are you playing HC servers or something? I've never had much of a problem with snipers, just stay in cover and run everywhere and you're fine. I never stand still in this game, even if I'm defending a building or something I strafe back and forth a little just in case people are trying to snipe me.

Exactly what I was thinking. Sure I get sniped from time to time but I've never really had a major problem with snipers before.

i doubt i'm playing HC because it takes forever to kill someone (except me apparently).

Well I would follow my other advice then. After learning the maps you kind of learn where the the snipers usually hide out, but staying in cover most of the time and constantly moving helps a ton in avoiding snipers. Also, if you're having a ton of trouble killing people as engineer try going assault, their guns take people down a lot faster. Other than that I don't know wut to say, I take people down in 2-3 bursts as an engineer unless they're really far away. I assume damage drops off faster with the SMG's that the engineer uses, so I try to stick to mid range with them.

When I roll engineer, for long range I use my RPG. Up close, the SMGs are nice but fire in bursts. Also, I almost never move without sprinting unless I know enemies are around. I only get occasionally sniped, and it is usually from those one shot kill snipers. The rest just bounce off me and I move behind cover before another gets off.

As someone who LOVES to play sniper...I can tell you a couple of things that make it harder for me...if you zig zag vs. running in a straight line from point A to point B...then it is hard to get a clean shot on you...and generally will miss more than hit.

In the Beta...people running in a straight line down the hill were generally an 80% head shot for me...people running around like they were high on crack...not so much...

Standing around being a mouth breather in game is an open invitation to a sniper...If I had to pick between two targets...one moving and one stationary just camping take a wild guess who I am setting the cross hairs on...

I have only had the Beta to judge but I thought they have done wonderful things with the hit detection if you fire in bursts and generally only fall back on the full mouse button jam session when I get the shit scared out of me or in close quarters as a last ditch effort...

Get the Saiga, and anyone within 10m is a dead man. Its a general use gun, so you can equip it with any class. Its great for when you are doing support stuff like Engineer or Medic. Just dont bother trying to take anyone down med+ range. Once I started using it I leveled up quick. The Saiga, XM8 and M24 are the only guns I trust so far, but I'm only level 11. There are a couple of guns I have been killed by that I know are good, but I have to grind away to get them.

I wish there was a general use assault rifle. I would rather use that for recon and medic. Also, if you see someone take a flag, just run over there. If you get there in the last sec you get 50 points. If you are spawning and see a squad mate near an objective, obviously spawn there. If a squad mate is in a tank, spawn there, and go along for ride. You get a piece of the action for anyone killed by the tank. If you dont go after objectives or use a class that helps others, leveling up can take forever. I have been sniping and went like 15 and 1, but got very little points. As medic, 2000 is easily achievable.

I like playing engineer as i mentioned earlier because thats how I get the most points. I got over 10k points one game as an engineer. I try to stay behind the tank while repairing and sometimes it works, other times not - usually get sniped. It's hard to repair a tank while in a building...

I hate when the tank driver keeps moving forward or backward while i'm trying to repair it. or I repair it and then he drives off at full speed leaving me behind. you'd think they'd want me around...

do you know if the vehicle skills that you get with the special edition stack between players? like if 2 of us have the extra defense, does the tank get double that extra defense? or if one of us has defense and the other offense, do we get both applied?

I've gotten a surprising amount of pistol kills in this game though.

if anyone has been raging over the medic defibrillator working inconsistently, you have to stop moving when you apply the defibrillator. took me a while to figure out why it worked sometimes and why it didn't. I think moving defibrillator revives worked in beta, but DICE changed it to needing to be stationary to successfully apply the defibrillator.

Well to me it's common sense not to run around in the open when you know there are going to be snipers around. If I get killed by one I know I did something wrong. Then I figure out where they are and kill them or let others know where they are so they can go kill them.

There's some links in the OP about this. Supposedly there is some stacking, only for non-duplicate items. Also, offensive ones are strictly for the driver, I think. I had the smoke spec, and couldn't figure out how to deploy it as the non-driver, so maybe it's all bugged, or BS...

One neat thing about the alt-fire/supreme firepower perk. You get a extra machine gun in the tank or UAV, but you get a big friggin missle in the APC. That's a nice upgrade!

obviously, but sometimes it can't be avoided (especially when 80% of the enemy team are snipers). i mean if i could repair a tank while still inside it, i would - but you can't.

It would be nice to be able to repair a vehicle automatically while inside it. Maybe to balance it it wouldn't be as fast as getting out to do it.

Haven't had the chance to put a ton of time into the game yet but so far, I'm a bit disappointed. Feels like a mix between BF2142 and CODMW and doesn't have the epicness of BF2.

Positives:
Graphics
Variety of Maps
Game Modes

Negatives:
Server Browser(why no ability to join a server using an IP address?)
Only 4 in a squad
No VOIP communication between squads makes tactics more difficult unless everyone is using Teamspeak
Guns(besides sniper rifles) are too weak and no ability to switch a gun to single shot.
Lack of a Commo Rose (current spotting and request system is weak)
Lack of game customizations compared to BF2

Thankfully, I play with a bunch of folks that use TS, so it makes playing more enjoyable. Hope they update the weapons damage before league play starts.

I was looking for a group of people who would be using voice chat. It's kind of annoying that no one communicates in the game even though its important. Unless its a clan only server, you mind telling me what the TS server is? I've played a lot of BF2 and BF2142 and had the same issue there.

Doesn't the M95 damage helicopters?

I'm interesting in a joining a game that isn't filled with nubs, is there a clan or server I could join?

I unlocked this last night, yes the M95 is beast and can damage helicopters no matter where you shoot it.

With magnum ammo you can get it shot down in 3-4 shots.

Helicopter pilot gets Hellfire missile (locks on like engi tracer darts I think??) and the gunner gets a tracer dart.

Right now the only downfall to this game for me personally is the god awful server browser, lag, lag, lag, lag, lag, lag. If I the servers I have bookmarked are full it takes me 15 minutes to find a game. The other thing is only 100, maybe less servers show a ping for me, not sure what this is about. Finally why does the search have to be so damn sensitive? If i'm searching for hardcore servers I can put it "core", "hardcore", Hardcore" or "HARDCORE" and get 4 completely different search results.

none of the servers show ping for me...There seems to be a shit ton of European servers too. Also need to be able to save a loadout for your class and save the last filters you used when searching, although I don't think the filters work anyway.

Wow. This is really good to know, and the inconsistency did make me rage pretty hard. Have a ;cookie:

The G3 is pretty much a general use assault rifle since it's full auto and pretty accurate. I actually like it more than most of the Assault's rifles.

Speaking of the Saiga, I just got my first platinum star with it. 11hr 26min and 1036 kills on that gun alone :). Too bad it looks just like a silver star.
