So you have to unlock the medpack and the ammo bags? thats a bit retarded.

When I played medic, it said I had a 40GGML or something like that on key 3, but when i hit 3, nothing happened. what is that?

Also, I went to the battlefield veterans site and entered my info for BF2 and Bad Company 1. I played the demo for BF2142 and 1943, should that work also? I had the special forces expansion for BF2 but I couldn't remember what my info was to unlock it on the veterans site. So i have rank 1 or whatever, isn't that supposed to unlock the M1 Garand? I didn't see it unlocked or do I have to do something else to get it?

Veterans should not have to unlock the Ammo Box, Medkit, Defibrillator, Repair Tool, and Motion Sensor, but they made them unlocks for noobs because they didn't appreciate them or understand how important they were. That being said, when I played last night I did not have the defibrillator, so I think there is a problem with this sometimes.

The 40MMGL is the grenade launcher for the Assault class. I think you just got confused when switching between classes.

I don't think the demo's for 2142 and BF1943 should count, but I could be wrong. As an expansion, Special Forces won't raise your rank, it just looks good on the page. The Garand should show up, it did for me earlier in the week, but again, last night it didn't. Hopefully gets fixed in the coming days. You could try logging out then back in to see if they show up.

Is there a setting to change the click to ADS to hold to ADS. Also, can I change the crouch to click rather than hold. I do so much crouching already, holding it seems silly.

Yes, it's funny how one person's preferences get programmed in to the game, huh?

Aim down the site is a toggle. No option for hold.
For crouch you have to hold. No option for toggle.

People are working on scripts to implement it Read about it here. Here's a video.

I think so

I was in the middle of a 3K with one rush part left to go game too

hope I didnt lose it

99% certain that you lost it. I had a CTD and I lost my points when that happened I don't think that they programmed anything to deal with abnormal exits from the game.

*EDIT*

I found a link to this in gamfaqs's forums ( I can't find the source but it's something) that the servers are down for extended maintenance or something.

Same thing it's an abnormal way to exit the game. Essentially they did not include any failsafe in case of the game not sending your info to the EA servers after a match. So if you have a CTD, lose your internet connection, PSU fails, can't connect to EA servers it's all the same thing.

The EA backend which controls most EA titles is suffering from an outage at the moment. The EA Online teams are working to find the cause and get servers back online as soon as possible.

BFBC2 PC and PS3 are the two formats affected most out of the Battlefield Bad Company 2 platforms.

EA may need to restart servers so you might experience kick from game scenarios during the evening while they bring the servers back online.

We are sending out new servers to our providers called "R5". They will be testing them out and changing over the servers by tomorrow evening. This server contains some fixes for the "Connection to the server has been lost" message that a lot of you will have seen.

We are also working on making another new server over the weekend as EA has set up some dedicated front-end boxes just for Battlefield Bad Company 2 which we will update the server to use and should work to improve the stability of connections to EA for everyone.

As you are aware from discussions on the forums, we have been having server load issues over the past few days which has affected game performance and even game stability for some players. As part of reducing server load we asked all our server hosts to shut down the EA Public servers while we work at optimizing the server browser in game to handle the large amounts of servers. Also as part of this server load cut backs, we have requested that the server providers do not put up anymore clan/rented servers either. This decision was made to reduce the impact on you guys when you are in game from affects such as slow server browser refresh, inaccurate server information refreshing and some of the other issues you have been seeing.

The server hosts can still take your orders and answer your questions but until we have made changes to keep server load down they won't be able to fill your order and put up your servers.

So you all don't worry about whether this means you can't get into a server be assured, there is enough server capacity to allow everyone to get into a server and play. It might not be your favourite server or server provider but you can still get in there and get dogtags from someone new.
Thanks for your patience and we hope to allow the hosts to put up servers again for you all as soon as possible.

So, what the hell is going? Can anyone play at all?

I'm getting this error message. When running the Bad Company 2 Updater

Your Version is : 515195
Lastest Version is : 519874

I click yes to update and I get this

---------------------------
Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 - Updater

On the bright side it looks like this is a sign that the pc version way outsold their expectations. I'd say thats a good thing for pc gaming as a whole. Anyways outside the overwhelmed server issues I love the game so I can be patient for now....
