Picked up a new toy on Sunday. The Roush exhaust and supercharger to be installed within a couple of weeks at the dealership once they've gotten the order in.

Awesome truck. Exactly what I wanted a few months ago.... unfortunately I delayed and missed the end of ordering for 2014's. Might still be on my list for 2016 assuming they come out with a new one on the new platform. I've test driven several (always black) and it's definitely the best riding truck / true SUV I've ever been in.

She's a beauty. Although, pretty sure I've seen better looking stock wheels on that machine before. Maybe I'm wrong.

You're a lucky SOB to be driving that...you gotta have quite a bit of money to afford one of those suckers. The purchase price alone...and I imagine it will cost nearly $150 to fill the tank from empty.

When you get tired of stopping at every gas pump along the way when you drive that awesome truck, the answer is getting a Miata to commute with. 😀

... that's double parked.

It's in the very back of a large parking lot, lots of spaces available today. And, it wasn't intentional... This thing is so wide that I don't have a good feel for it yet.

So please, no paint stripping gel 🙂

34 gallon tank, so about 340 mile range per fillup. Of course, it's going to cost a shit ton of cash to fill it at 11mpg...

These Raptors could become highly-desirable if the rumors are true that Ford (it's a Ford, right? 😛) stops making them.

I get that it has a lot of off-road capability, but it's like a Mercedes SUV. You're never going to take it off-road or use it to haul because it's too expensive to screw up, and that means that what you bought is a really poor driving, really expensive, really slow, really crude street car. So you'll drive it on the road, except you can't commute in it because 11 MPG. So what you bought is a slow but fun, impractical weekend road car...

... in this case, the answer was most definitely Miata.

My sons drool all over Raptors. I don't get it; when I was a kid I wanted a sporty car not a land barge. They're definitely nice but not something I'd ever buy.

While you have some valid points, I'd like to add some commentary from someone who did seriously consider buying a raptor. I made a thread here when I was looking at them and got several similar comments to yours.

1. It isn't all that slow... Given that it is a truck. It isn't that far off of the miata which is a great momentum sports car but is relatively slow when compared to other sports cars. It's one of the slowest but with great handling. The raptor is plenty fast for DD duty.

2. Affordability is subjective. I can afford to take a raptor off road. Many other people can too. They aren't crazy to insure or maintain and have great resale value.

3. MPG isn't as important to some people. I have a seven mile commute. I don't care if it gets 11 MPG.

4. Depending on your lifestyle, a truck can be very practical. It's not like a miata is a super practical car lol.

5. Nothing about the raptor's interior or ride is crude..

6. The raptor is perfect for taking the family and some toys to the lake, mountains, etc... Price wise its similar to a high end american SUV. If you drive 100 miles a day by yourself and have no need to cart anything... Or park in the city a lot... It isn't the most practical vehicle... But as enthusiasts we often don't buy the bland but practical vehicle.
