The AnandTech Internet Monitor Pop-up?

Is this legit? I had 2 IE windows open, both in the AT forums. Suddenly this pop-up appears called the Internet Monitor. Very odd as I use WebWasher to block ads and pop-ups but somehow it appeared. It looks like some kind of online survey.

Now I thought AT didn't endorse intrusive pop-ups like this. Anybody else see it or am I slowing going insane...?

I just got the same one. Kind of lavender in color? First time I've seen a popup, although I know that others have complained of them.

Come to think of it I did see a lavender colored one, I closed it as soon as it opened & never paid any attention to where it came from.

It hasn't come back, so at least it's not obnoxious.

Is this a hack into the system, or is it something that Anandtech put in. It is quite annoying & keeps comming back every 30 seconds or so.

OOOooo... 🙂 Detective work here! Tracing! How do you trace incidentely? Cause I wouldn't mind doing that!

This pop-up seems to kill my Internet Explorer 5.00.2013.1312 for Hp-UX 10.20. IE for Unix usually is very stable, but I've been crashing on AT all afternoon.

Or whip out the Rocket Launcher used in UT? Fill it up with rockets and fire it at their server.... BTW Zuni how did that get to these forums anyway???

I think they're called pop-ups after that amusement fair game where you hit heads down with a mallet which are popping up at random out of holes.
Good name, that.

I wonder if I should use an ACME Mallet to bash that server in? Its the one causing the pop ups and as Inoka said you use a hammer to bash them down, so whats the difference in doing it to their server? Same difference 😛 I think that will stop them from poping up again!

Don't ALL pop up windows suck!!! They just take up space and bandwidth especially when you only have a slowish 56K modem! And standard dial up connect.
