The American Dream video - VERY good...

You know there's no gold behind the currency?

There are almost no gold reserves in Fort Knox, as to where guards are no longer required to carry bullets. The bars are gold plated with tungsten cores.

Here's another great video OP. Grab some popcorn.

The Money Masters - How International Bankers Gained Control of America

"The Money Masters explains the history behind the current world depression and the bankers’ goal of world economic control by a very small coterie of private bankers, above all governments."

All truth passes through three stages:
...
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

The Money Masters really is the best video on the federal reserve, it should be required learning in HS and again in College.

As for the gold in Ft. Knox being plated tungsten, haven't heard that one?

BS goes through the first and second stage as well, just never the third. Neither has all this gold conspiracy BS.

Who the heck came up with this tungsten filled gold conspiracy crap? That's just idiotic. There's not a shred of evidence to support that claim.

I amazes me that nobody stops to think about these crazy conspiracy theories before blindly accepting them. Do you REALLY think gold bars are actually tested the Archimedes way of determining their density in water or something? I mean, that's the only 'test' that can be 'fooled' by substituting tungsten. Drill samples, chemical purity testing, I'm sure there's a LOT of ways to test these things.

For some reason the whole gold/precious metal/federal reserve/evil world cabal of banksters bull really captivates a lot of people. Funny and sad at the same time.

Let's see what happens if and when the Federal Reserve and our gold reserves are ever audited. A few ad hominems should not stop anyone from asking the right questions. Meanwhile the ideologues are going to be at the end of a Ponzi bubble, while waiting for either Party or the Fed to save them. There are far too many Americans who believe the Federal Reserve is part of the Federal Govt.

Where did I say that anyone used ad hominems against me? Spend too much time attacking each other (backing everyone into corners) instead of focusing on the issues, where does it get you? I posted that link for the OP and anyone who might still be a little intellectually curious.

The video's claim that the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE bank, outside of the U.S. government is just totally false. After that whopper was delivered, I completely lost interest.

A bunch of people are going to look really foolish when the new Currency is based on the Polished Mahogany Standard.

instead of focusing on the issues

What "issues" exactly? The only "issues" are the idiotic conspiracy theories raised by gold nuts and people who believe in some vast bankster conspiracy. These videos and blog posts always support their nutty theories with pseudo-science and faulty / misinterpreted economic data.

It's no different than the crazies railing about vapor trails in the sky, birthers, truthers and so on.

Yeah, I don't understand that perspective at all. It was created by an act of congress, and can be destroyed by an act of Congress. The president nominates the chairman, and the FRB has governmental powers. It's certainly not anything resembling "private."

There's some truth up there, but I wouldn't say Business Cycle Theory is based upon a conspiracy. Hayek did win a Nobel prize in economics after all.
