what was really interesting about the civic announcement is that it seems like something is on the way for acura as well, hopefully the return of the RSX!

When it's the top selling car evar, you generally try to change as few things as possible.

That's also why Chrysler makes these cool and fucked up vehicles every year. They never sell worth shit, so they revamp the entire thing every single year. Next year they'll make the Steve Urkel car.

From a styling point of view I think the new Elantra is going to give it a run for its money.

Yeah, both this and the offerince from Mazda and Ford are nicer IMO.

What about the interior of this new Civic? Did they keep the horrible two-tiered analog/digital combo? I absolutely hate that interior and that of Hondas/Acuras in general. They use to be class-leading but not anymore.

I loved the config of my 2006 Civic. The cruise control stayed on all the time instead of needing me to turn it on every god damn time, digital speed gauge was really nice so there's no more precision error caused by my inability to read, having the tach as the center of everything was kinda cool. I liked how high up the speed thing was. It's right below where you're looking, so you don't really need to look down.

Overall it was a nice design. In a few car reviews I saw on youtube, I noticed a few Ford vehicles had a very similar layout

It looks fine. I don't know what you guys are expecting from an economy car. However, I have to admit that I would go for the next Focus if I was looking for a car like this.
